Purchased 3 iPhone 4's on eBay to trade in for <$25, along with 2 other cracked back glass and front glass phones. 5 phones total, each showed the promotion @ $1000/36 months. There were two promotions on the Costco/Verizon service rep's iPad when ordering, one is for "any condition" and another is for "bad battery only". This can be seen when expanding on the details section, as the titles are identical, and is probably affecting some people's pricing here because they ask to confirm the condition of the phone by checking off if it had broken glass.
Plan cost for ultimate is estimated at $65 with taxes before autopay $10/line. So effectively ~$55/each for 5 lines. All 5 lines were the standard iPhone 15 Pro 128gb. But could have selected any 15 Pro model to use the $1000 towards. I got an email with all the details clearly written out, including the value of the trade ins with promotion.
Representative confirmed that each line will be getting a $250 Costco cash card, and receipt that's printed out shows this (emailed receipt doesn't as it's from Verizon directly). The sweet part of this deal is that all of us who traded in iPhone 4's have unlocked iPhone 14 Pro's that we get to keep and sell, and of course the $250 Costco card per line. All in all, a very similar price over 3 years, but at least I'm on Verizon's prioritized data, Verus's a grandfathered T-Mobile deprioritized lines of which I feel in Charlotte, Detroit, and NYC metro areas that I visit often.
And the kiosk agent was super nice, he actually wasn't well versed in the promotions, but at least was open to me reading and walking through the ordering process options on the iPad they have throughout each step.
Pro max, 256gb, $1200/36 = $33.33
Unlimited plus plan (4 existing lines, 1 new unlimited plus) = $42
iPhone 7 plus trade in credit = $830/36 = $23.05
Costco $250 gc mailed or emailed after a few months. Verizon kiosk in costco printed a receipt with "$250 gc" on it.
Taxes are due upon upgrade. $35 activation was added to monthly bill.
Trade in will be dropped off at Verizon with submission ID when I receive the new one. Old phone needed to be on/online to confirm find my iPhone was logged out to generate submission ID. I recommend "trading in" at the same time (even though the device doesn't get dropped off at Costco) to ensure the credit is applied to the order. The non-promo trade in value is $10 so that'd be a $820 gamble.
Why am I porting in? Family plan is unlikely to change for 3 years. Paying the same monthly without a phone credit did not seem worth it. Verizon unlocks after 60 days so it'll be useful for international esim eventually.
Trade in credit varies with plan: $1000 for ultimate unlimited ($52/mo), $830 for unlimited plus ($42), $415 for unlimited welcome ($27). It is $3.5 a month more for unlimited plus from unlimited welcome since you get $415 more trade but you're paying $15 more for the plan.
Uprgades get $100 from costco instead of $250. Upgrades, however, require iphone 8/se and above to get the same value while new line can take in basically any iPhone.
The my Verizon app can show you an exact value on trade in (and new monthly bill) after going to shop, adding in the new phone first, select monthly payments, and yes on trade in. Do not completely proceed as you will not get the Costco gc. It will save time, however, since you can tell the Costco Verizon agent exactly what plan to build and you'll already know what it should cost ahead of time.
Good luck.
Edit: Nevermind, receipt that wasn't emailed, but printed out shows $250 Costco Shopcard on the right side in small letters. Neither me or the kiosk agent saw this.
Iphone 15 pro = $1099
Iphone 13 trade in = -$1000
2 month of service = $150 ($75x2)
Total cost for iphone 15 pro = $249 and I can cancel after 60 days to get my device unlocked
iPhone pro 15 is $999, not 1099
And you also have $250 Costco credit which is as soon as co
So you are off by 350

Usually this is the case: If you cancel account before receiving 36 bill credits, credits stop & balance on required finance agreement is due.
Assuming you buy an iphone 15 pro 256gb @ $1099 (a lot of people buy this one or the pro max 15 256gb).
1 year ownership on Verizon is (assuming 5 lines in my case) = $42 + tax = ~$50 * 12 = $600.
For $600 you get $250 costco shop card, $830/36*12 = $276 in bill credit, and a $1099 phone that you now have owed $823 to ($1099-$276), if you want to pay off and move to other carriers.
Total cost for year 1 is = $600 (Verizon 1 year charge) +$823 (what you pay in full to get off Verizon) - $250 (Costco) + $35 (activation fee) +$30 (cheap phone to trade in) = $1238
In the same scenario if you do nothing and stayed with T-Mobile plan like i would have (5 ppl Magenta)
It'd be $36 per line * 12 = $432
So the difference is $1238-$432 = $806. You moved from T-Mobile to Verizon and essentially paid $806 for a iphone 15 Pro 256gb, and have it for a year.
The kicker is you can trade in this same phone next year for ~$800 as well. So you don't actually lose anything. With tax you prob lose a little bit but you do gain the phone for 1 year. And this iphone 15 will likely be eligible for the highest trade in value for the next 3 years ish.
What makes this 36 month Verizon offer different from others is that you gain
1) $250 Costco GC
2) the fact that you can trade in any iphone 3+ phones to get full trade in value.
Without those then you're essentially losing money as Verizon plan, in this case, costs $14 more a month. $168 a year, $504 3 years.
