But then I read some posts on Reddit talking about the cost of insurance…
Man… It costs so much to insure an EV even with a good driving record and past 30 years old.
I guess it makes sense to drive an EV in CA.
Elsewhere? Maybe not so much.

Great high quality EVSE, and in my case, at an even better price.

If you have a non-tesla, I'd buy that new dual charger plug from Tesla. The dual charger supports the non tesla standard but future proofs you since all vehicles will be going to the tesla plug by 2025.
I don't understand why these off brands exist. They're not less expensive and they don't offer extra features not already built into the vehicles software.
Cheaper than at Costco. As for quality, I don't have a whole lot of insight. My work has several of these installed in the parking garage and so far they've all kept up pretty well with very frequent usage. I think last time I plugged in, I was getting like 6.6kwh? No clue about the software though.
My level 1 charger is plugged into a Kasa smart plug that has a sane scheduling system, but that's no help for level 2 so I definitely need something with a solid app. So the feedback here is helpful.

Type of vehicle makes a big difference, you need to give us more context. Model3 is not considered luxury sedan so insuring it will drop to a lesser category in my case. My ModelY is now even cheaper to ensure than my model3 (progressive, 0 accidents, married, white, family of 4, over 40, no frills or add-ons, 50k liability+uninsured, no rental, $0 glass= $1500/yr
