Not exactly but it gets close. 6800xt draws more power and has a different die. You can get an additional ~10% increase with OC the 6800 but the 6800xt is about 15% faster so it cannot be stable OC to match. The 6800 is a great card and if you can find a 6800xt under $450, that would be better deal.
Is 7800 xt for $499 better deal?

I hope the prices continue to drop. My video card is three years old, but when mine dies I'll be switch over to AMD.
