then it's interesting for new lines.
T mobile constantly changes their "best plan". They went from Simple choice, to One, to magenta and now go5G.
They told me last year that magenta max would get the best trade in value vs legacy plan.
Now its go5g.
If you add that $20/ month for go5G, next year it'd be something else.
Stay with legacy plans, you save more per month.
I will recommend otherwise. If you have only a handful 1-3 lines and not upgrade every two years and have a sub $100 plan with Kickback etc. then you can plan to buy phone elsewhere and keep the lower monthly plan.
With his situation with 9-lines, $20/month over 24-months is only $480. Even if he updates 4 phones in his account, it would be $3000-4000 worth of phones for taxes and any applicable fees. You can continue to rinse / repeat every two years.
As posted above, in my situation after upgrading to Magenta Max we had 6 device installments mostly free after credits of the 12 lines. Our monthly bill was $152 on Magenta Max. Moving to Go5G Plus for $171, we now have option to upgrade other lines and get better phones for an additional $456 paid over 24-months. We can trade in XR, s10e for full value for S23 or iPhone 15, which is not doable in Magenta Max anymore.

As I see the deals, I am clear on the switch promo that T mobile will pay me $650 per line .
However, I am not able to understand the new Iphone offer. It looks like I have to trade-in in order to get any new Iphone offer? is my understanding correct. I want to keep my current phones.
Switching from att to T-Mobile 55 plus ($50/line plan) gets:
$1000 towards a 15 Pro with trade in
$800 towards 15 with trade in
$400 per line switching from att to T-Mobile
$100/month for 55+ plan two lines (includes Netflix and Apple TV plus).
Existing T-Mobile customers have old cheaper plans so complain understandably. But compared to current ATT plans (I'm at $180/month) this is a great deal
1. The $150 member benefit applies to all member - so you get this.
2. The $250 credit applies only if porting from ATT or VZ
3. The iPhone upgrades and trade ins are the same as on their website.
4. The plans are the same as the ones their website. However, if you are a first responder, military or have a corporate discount, this will be lower for you.
So depending on the phone you have this may work out. For us, it did.
Moved 2 lines from VZ to TMO. Traded in 2 iPhone 13 to get a "free" iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 pro for $8/mo. 24 month deal.
Lowered the price on the TMO Home Internet to $30 from $50
Got a free Apple Watch SE for moving over the plan from VZ to TMO for the watch
Get NFLX for "free" - save $15/m
The way I look at this is that my total spend on monthly subscriptions went down by $45/mo ($15 NFLX + $20 Home Internet). Plus I updated the phones but gave up 2 years of optionality. All the other things they tell you about the plan (e.g, Tuesday deals, etc etc) is just minor so not worth the discussion. Finally, my total spend vs VZ did go down as well so it made sense for us. And we will get the $400 Costco GC after a period of time.
I changed mine as of today with the new bill cycle. I have same as you, with 5 free lines in first 9 on Magenta Max, with a total of 6 free lines out of 12. My bill increased $19/month. I had upgraded to Magenta Max only a year back for high trade-in values. Sucks to have to change again.
How much do you pay now for 9-lines with Insider $88 or $128? That help identify if you have old or new Insider.
For Go5G Plus, it would be $99 (Old) or $144 (New) after Insider discount. Check out the sub-Reddit for more details.
Any thoughts?

Thanks, so It looks like I will need to trade in for the offer on the new ones.

Yes, per line switching that's what it says in the store and also there's a slick deals listings for another Costco listing
My total bill for 4 lines per month in go5g+ is $148
First time using tmobile. Am I getting ripped ?
I switch mostly to keep same number while travelling international trips. Also its not bad Tmobile is paying to unlock phones from xfinity. I was paying $110 to xfinity for 10gb
