Old Simple Choice plan here with 7 lines ( 5 free one of which is data only ) with everything unlimited including unlimited international calling ( family stateside add on ) for $136 with taxes!

No way am I switching..ever! Anytime I want a new phone, I buy outright from Apple, Samsung, or Google. Hate dealing with those lying and unapologetically dishonest SOBs reps at TMobile!

I just swapped from Magenta 1.0 to Go5gPlus but my case is less common. I have 2 paid lines, 5 free lines, and home internet with insider discount. I was paying $96 for the 2 lines and $50 for TMHI. Upgraded to Go5g+ and 2 lines are $120, but TMHI is now $30. So $4 more per month gets me lots more hotspot data and great trade deals. Ymmv

I'll admit it you chose wisely and yours is the first plan change I've seen that I'd have done the same thing.

Can you explain why? I have a legacy, and would sincerely like to know the differences.
The price different is 200-300% higher than any account type before the cheapest Go5G plan

T-mobile got you staying as a loyal customer so it's smart they let you stay on your old plan Smilie .

Meanwhile you pay for your own phone upgrades while paying more than a MVNO would charge for 7 lines.
For example, T-Mobile owned Mint would cost you $105/month for 7 lines.

The only way to win at this game IMHO is to switch carriers every 2 years for the new customer deals and look at your total cost of ownership over 2 years for whatever services you use (i.e. netflix, HBO, cell service, etc).

$105/month if you only want 5gb of high speed.

Mint web site currently shows all plans unlimited data for $15/month.

https://www.mintmobile.com/plans/

Though 5gb is likely fine for most folks anyway.

I recall Visible (verizon) in past had very good deals for families/account sharing.

I'm on Magenta Max with 5 lines, one of them is free and I pay less per line than that. I don't think that is an exceptional deal. There are people with 6 lines paying sub $100. Not criticizing, just providing context. As long as you are happy with your deal, that's all that matters
I genuinely appreciate the insight. I let myself be blinded. time to do some research.

For 3 months, but then your back to $30/month and only if you pay a year in advance. I agree 5gb is enough for most, but it's not apples to apples.

I switch last week to tmobile from xfinity in costco booth.

My total bill for 4 lines per month in go5g+ is $148
First time using tmobile. Am I getting ripped ?

I switch mostly to keep same number while travelling international trips. Also its not bad Tmobile is paying to unlock phones from xfinity. I was paying $110 to xfinity for 10gb
Are you sure it's $148 for 4 lines? Their website says $185.

I have an old plan that pays for Netflix. Don't need the 5G. Paying 120$ for 2 fully unlimited lines and hotspot.
thats because you are paying more than other old plans. we only pay $120 for 5 unlimited lines. no netflix. so the money is there. you pay more. you get more benefits.

There's a bogo for lines right now so it's best to open up two lines to get up to 800$
Can you please point me to the BOGO promo?

I have the tmobile magenta max and I currently have Netflix, and 5G home internet for $30. Changing my plan to the Go5G Plus does not make sense is like $20-30 more for just getting the phone every 2 years
magenta max isnt $30. thats the good deal that you got. magenta max should be at least $50 per line.
