Lots of misinformation out there so I'll offer a solid data point plus pose a question...

I had 4 lines (paid off pixel and 3 iPhone 14 pros with large device payment balance).

Ported all 4 to T-Mobile at Costco. Supposed to get the $800 device payoff x3 (one for each iPhone) and they also registered me for the $250 promo/line for porting in plus the $75 Costco cash card/line. Not sure if those are max 2 or 4..

But I did receive 2x$800 so far for keep and switch. Supposedly they didn't approve the third one yet but they need to "deactivate" the $250 promo because I can't have both.

Didn't make sense to me be the other two $800 prepaid cards were given to me without issue..

Regardless that's where I'm at now if that helps anyone. I ported to T-Mobile around end of Aug.
What documentation did you have to submit to receive the $800 for keep and switch?

They outline it specifically, but pretty much just a bill showing that you have made at least 3 monthly payments on your device and showing the balance that is left (I had just over $900 left, and max reimburse is $800, so I got $800).

Also the cards can easily just be transferred to your bank account directly which is SO convenient!

Not true ive seen crazy thing with tmobile
I used Tmobile for 5 years. When you calculate it is never free plus in my bill I used to see 3-4 dollars some charge every other month and call them fight them to get it back. It is just hell.
I pay 22 dollars net, tax fees added, plus I bought my phone unlocked. Nothing can beat that as far as I see.

So you only get one of these promos, even if you port in 5 lines right?

Porting in from Visible. Rep said we are NOT eligible for the $250 port in credit because it is for Verizon/AT&T only. Is that what everyone is experiencing as well?

INDEED. It's a SIMPLE CHOICE! Love my grandpa plan. 10+ YRS going strong.
My current plan: 5 lines is $130 including tax etc.
Go5G Next: $320 with "Free" Upgrade to iPhone 15 and Netflix (I don't particularly care about other benefits.

At $41/per line It's cheaper for me to self finance the upgrade of my 4 lines to iPhone 15 and be done in 24 months. It will be still cheaper if I decide to trade in my devices.

I've been so confused by how this new subsidized pricing scheme works. Some of the "large" print on T-Mobile's site seems deceptive (e.g., "get a 15 Pro on us" with no mention of the requirement to trade in a max-valued phone until you click an extra link to see the "full terms").

OK, my apologies if some of this is already answered in this thread, but I'm an existing AT&T customer who would like to trade in some older, lower-valued phones, and I'm hoping someone can answer my questions. First, some extra backgound: It's really just my wife and I, but I could also add my daughter (moved out) to our plan, too. Someone suggested getting one of the non-55 plans and trying to get a T-Mobile rep to give me the "insider" 20% plan discount and 3rd line free with Go5G Plus, which would be $120 for 3 lines after 20% discount.
  1. Do the Costco kiosk stores keep inventory of phones, or will they always be shipped to me later? (FWIW, it looks like the iPhone 15 Pro has a 1-month wait from Apple's site)
  2. If they potentially *do* have them available in-store and I'm trading in phones, will I need to hand over my old phones to them when I sign up and walk out with my new phone, or will I be able to ship them to them (or bring them to a T-Mobile store) later? (asking because I could run over today to a Costco with my phone, but don't want to drag my wife and daughter with me or have them be without a phone for any amount of time)
  3. T-Mobile is supposedly giving me a trade-in credit of $830 for my wife's old iPhone XS 64GB (base model) with the fine print stating that it will be credited on my bill within 2 billing cycles, but that's wrong and when accepting the offer, the next page tells the truth which is that I'll actually get a one-time credit of $80 and then the rest of that credit ($750) spread out over 24 months. And if I cancel my T-Mobile service early, I'll have to pay the remainder. Fair enough. So let's say I want to cancel my T-Mobile service early and move somewhere else, I (or maybe the other provider I move to) will have to pay off the balance. But will I have to worry about T-Mobile not unlocking the phone for use on the other provider?
  4. It seems like the main difference between the Go5G Plus and Next plans is that with the more expensive Next plan I have the option of upgrading every year and staying with them as a customer, whereas with the less expensive Plus plan if I wanted to upgrade every year I'd have to leave them (and pay off my phone balance), but the actual cost to me would probably still be cheaper to do that. Seems crazy that they're kind of incentivizing me to leave them if I'm not willing to pay them the extra $120/year per phone ($10/month difference between Plus and Next plans).

It's all case by case… I had the One Plus plan, but the go5g plus plan ended up being only $30 more a month. We upgrade our phones every 2 years so this new plan is a no brainer.
Do you have insider code or any other discount? Wondering as I have one plan as well and trying to justify "upgrade"

Anybody know when this deal expires?

EDIT- I'm looking to port over 4 line from ATT, but don't know if adding a 5th line to my att and then porting over is better OR porting 4 and opening up the 5th line with T-mobile. My current bill is $175 after AARP+internet bundle+autopay, so I'm trying to see if I can get the insider discount to make it cheaper to port over. You guys think they might add on the 5th line for free?
