Needed to cut some interior doors and was just looking at these. HF has them for $40, is this any better really?

Alternatively, I was thinking. Is this really necessary? Can't I just use a straight piece of wood and two clamps to do the same thing, which I already have.

I have the 4 foot version of the Kreg guide and it's garbage. It was great the first couple times then the screws that hold the two pieces together no longer hold pressure because the thread is gone. In addition the end pieces don't stay on anymore either. I got maybe 5 uses out of it and since then I've been using a straight piece of wood and clamps and doubt I'll ever go back. Just my personal experience, possibly I got a bad one.

Thanks. I'll go with some clamps and a piece of wood and save the $40+.

If you see 'Clearance' in the price column, it should be discounted in that store.

Read the many reviews on Amazon. Seems to be some issues with clamping force and putting the tool together
