1) The order was placed completely online.
2) I chose to get a new line (new account).
3) I had to enter my SSN and ID numbers and select a monthly plan.
4) NO contracts are signed.
5) The order was placed and ready to pick up in 15 minutes or so.
6) At Best Buy, I just went to the "online pickup" area, and they handed me a sealed, factory-unlocked device with an AT&T SIM card attached to the box together with the pickup label.
7) I walked out of the store in 90 seconds; no time had to be spent setting up anything.
8) I placed the SIM card on a Pixel that I have and the line became active.
9) I can confirm that the device they gave me is fully unlocked (model SM-S918U1).
10) I'm now in the process of porting out the number and closing the AT&T account, will update my post once I've been successful (or unsuccessful...)
Update: nvm I have to create ATT account in order to check out
The associate you spoke with didn't know how it works or something, its only for the 512GB.
You can confirm this yourself online just add a 512GB to your cart and you'll see the discounts, they are only for unlocked 512GB versions tho, no other phone gets the discount, and it does stack with the $550 AT&T activation.
See the attachment for proof, you might have to get a manager involved to approve it but it is a real offer

If you activated a device within the last 14 days
- You can find out how to return your device and cancel service on the AT&T Wireless Return Policy page.
- You don't have to pay a restocking fee for returns purchased online that fall under the 14-day return policy. Did you pick up an online order in the store? Go to one of our stores to have the restocking fee waived. Fee waiver is subject to change.
So just not sure if that would apply to this purchase or not.I must have done something wrong, not sure if anyone else ran into this. I had my appointment in store, and I specifically had them make sure that it was the unlocked device and not the AT&T device. They told me that the device could be unlocked after 60 days of service, which didn't make sense to me since the phone was supposed to be unlocked to begin with. I just assumed the representative was mistaken, and didn't think anything of it since others had reported back.
Well, I opened the device and sure enough, this activation has the phone linked to AT&T, and when going to the unlock section in the AT&T portal, it said that the phone cannot be unlocked until after 60 days. Since the phone is opened, Best Buy would charge a $45 restocking fee. Is there something I am missing, or did I just screw up? Any suggestions would be appreciated!

All you need to do is show that receipt in the store, they will have to honor it , just show that its been processed this way in other BB stores and that theres a glitch.
The whole point of using BB+ membership is to save $200 off the phone, and then the AT&T offer is a totally separate discount, so they will and should stack.

I went to best buy today and managed to stack the discounts. Even with me showing the receipt from FuschiaMorning6053, It took a long time going back and forth with the reps because they weren't sure if the discounts would stack. They had to activate the phone without knowing what the final price would be and that needed manager permission. I had to do the whole carrier registration and only at the very end just before paying was I told the final amount. If I didn't get the discounts to stack the rep said he would refund me. Luckily that was unnecessary.
I went with google fi even though it's $100 more because I don't have a credit history so I figured setting up an at&t account would be impossible. Plus, I didn't want to go and have to call to cancel my service.
Here's my receipt:

Will this make doing this deal any harder?
Is there an easy way to get a free number to use?
Is there anyway to try to stack the offers online?
Maybe signing up for bb+ and then canceling and refunding if the $200 discount doesn't work? The closest store with 512gb available is pretty far so it would be frustrating to make the drive, wrestle with an employee and not get the deal done.
Thanks for the help!
