with hack high torque hammer drill r861152 for $81.31 if you return or cancel batteries / charger kit (max 4ah / 2ah / charger)

must add both to cart to get a price or it will be regular $149.

I believe this is newest hammer drill in 18V.
this r861152 is 1250 in-lbs vs r86115 is 800 in-lbs. r86114 is also 800 in-lbs but does not have hammer function. also dont confuse this with subcompact r87112 hammer drill as it is only 500 in-lbs

Got the regular drill instead since I have the hammer drill already and needed a standard drill for in case we ever have to manually operate the hydraulic pumps on our wheelchair accessible Sierra AT4. Almost pulled the trigger at DTO for the hammer drill version but after shipping I was like nah HD will have another hack soon. Sure enough.

Anyone ever have issues with the batteries inside or in the bed of a truck before? The manuals state "Exposure to fire or temperature
above 265°F (130°C) may cause explosion." which neither would get to that temp.

Careful on your hack, home depot is allowing less and less returned without the receipt
good reminder. they don't typically come with a packing slip but you can print out your receipt.

Simple solution, ship one to your store, the batteries to Timbuktu

Just select different store for batteries and cancel them 2 minutes later after order is placed that way you dont have to waiting for a credit. And no one wastes their time or resources. As for receipt you still have your order number and credit card you paid with.

When you can select a free item / tool = you can return it as each item will have an adjusted price. If your buy a item that picture shows you have a tool or battery included those can only be returned together, as on your invoice receipt it will show price for whole kit , and 0.00 for actual tools.

This is true The last time I did a hack I had a hell of a time I had to go to three different Home depots I'm never doing it again it's not worth it. Unless somebody knows a better way that's convenient

I canceled unwanted items about 3 minutes after order was placed or as soon as it showed up in my purchase history, ( when order is placed it says it should be added to your account history with in 5 minutes).
In my experience if you had select same store for all items you would need to physically return one as it will only allow to cancel whole order. Both items need to be shipped or store pick up, but you can select different stores for different items. ( just says you have multiple / different stores selected) then it allows you to cancel individual store /item.

I don't believe that works anymore. At least it hasn't let me for a while now.

If you are getting the "hammer" part of this for anything more than light masonry drilling, do yourself a favor and get an SDS rotary hammer. I have poured concrete that I was having an absolute hell of a time with a previous generation Ridgid hammer drill on. Small holes too, 3/8" only, 2-3". My whole arm was numb by the end of the day and the holes were garbage quality - lots of bit wander. Got an SDS corded hammer drill next day. Literally seconds to cut through the same 2-3" of concrete, no hesitation, no wandering, and built-in vibration damping means I barely felt it in my arm at all - it was as easy as drilling through some plywood with a regular drill.
