I guess what I would say is that if you're willing to put up with some hassle, there's potentially a good deal to be had here, but I'm not sure I would do it again.
With that said, if you have a GameStop Pro account and get a $5 off reward each month, this is still a great way to use it and get 4 classic games from a local store without paying for shipping. You won't find all your first choices in the same location, but you can usually find 1 or 2 great classic games and several reasonably good ones.
It also depends on the system you have. There are lots of good PS4 games at this price point that will work on PS5, but only if you have the model with a disk reader (which most people probably didn't spend extra for).
You can ask for the employees to print out a list of what they have up to $9.99 at Gamestop so it cuts down on the time spent checking the shelves. Not to mention sometimes they have stuff in the drawers but not on the shelf and those will show up on the list.
If you EVER make an online order with gamestop during one of their promotions (any time you're getting a discounted price), and there's a delay in shipping (out of stock, etc) of one or more items, keep a close eye on your credit card.
Gamestop will often fulfill these delayed items days, weeks or months later, but when they do, you will be charged full price for them.
I have no idea why Gamestop thinks this is ok, but it happens all the time. Just be advised.

I had completely forgotten about this until I read your post, but the same thing happened when I was returning several games locally that I'd ordered online. The clerk said the system didn't know how to even calculate what I had actually paid for the items I was returning. I ended up using the iPhone calculator myself to itemize what I was due while he helped other customers in line and then when it was just us he accepted my math and did an override and refunded me exactly what I was due. I've always had good experiences with the store employees. Corporate though, different story.

Same thing happened to me. I'm glad I'm not alone lol definitely left a sour taste.
With this sale they are basically trying to get rid of some stock and make space for the newer crap being traded-in these days.
