"Announced in March 2022, the iPad Air is now among the older iPads in Apple's lineup and it is likely at the end of its product cycle. Rumors suggest that a new iPad Air could come as soon as October 2023. This means that now not a good time to buy the iPad Air and most customers should wait for a new model to launch."

Got this from the Apple store for the same price on release day. After nearly a year, I feel a bit of regret I didn't get the regular iPad instead. I mainly use iPads for media consumption, and don't notice any performance differences or much of a screen difference from the iPad 9. I do like the USB C, but the battery in the Air doesn't last nearly as long as the iPad. The fancy screen in it is also super expensive to fix, so be sure to get Apple Care with it.

So, it's a great tablet, but unless you're going to use the Pencil or do some PC-type work on your Air, I'd stick with the regular iPad.
