Hi SkyKing02

The NVR has PoE ports, so if you got a good cat5e/6 cable run it will provide power to the cameras.

Thanks and repped CleverBuffalo

indeed @munkynutss .. really too bad they're putting in tiny sensors ..

HI skim, as long as your cables are still good, you should be able to swap out your kit as needed.

( remember di-electric gel in the RJ45 boot .. just a drop, and coax seal or silicone stretch tape .. also I do like junction boxes .. )

Hi Dolfan954

Typically can manually add cameras on the network to Dahua OEM NVRs .. including wifi cameras on your wifi router ..

note, remember wifi can become problematic if you have too much traffic on it that needs to stream real time ..

Hi Bargainhunter .. looks like the NVR is spec'ed to hold 2 hdds ..

Yes, 16 ports PoE .. very nice ..

You do realize they're not attached like that right? It's just the way they're positioned in the photo.

I have this one, which is an older version. The one listed here seems to have more features. I like the deterrent light and setup was a pretty easy. I even called customer service to figure out how to view and configure from my computer.

I personally like the dome but the bullet are more noticeable, which you want with cameras.

thanks much. Do you find the 4tb is enough? It says in the ad that a person can put a second 4tb disk. Is there room for two hds. How long would are your connection cables?

is the camera POE or need a power source?
By the look of the pictures on the site from that link it appears they are POE. That's quite nice. 16 Ethernet ports for them.

As this is a Dahua OEM NVR you should be able to augment this with better Dahua OEM cameras ..

NVR spec sheet appears to be
https://www.lorextechnology.com/d...eet_R1.pdf

Hard Drive Bays 2 Bays
Hard Drive Capacity Up to 2 x 8TB (SATA)

I did not see the bandwidth it can handle on the spec sheet .. perhaps I overlooked it ..

I have an older Lorex system from 10 years ago that has PoE. Can I buy this set and just switch the DVR and the cameras without redoing the Ethernet wiring in my house?

Thanks! Do you know if this NVR supports Lorex Wi-Fi cameras?

I am struggling here. I currently have a Nest Camera system set up and I am not happy. I have a couple spots around my house that cannot easily run POE through (attic is broken up in my house). So, the idea of adding some of the Lorex cameras seems enticing.

I have a Lorex 4K from a couple years ago from Costco. The app is so frustrating to use and I was never able to get it to record anything close to 4K

Can you block internet access and access cams away from home via vpn or is there some awful cloud app? Also, would this be a good buy for the cameras and sell the nvr to do diy Frigate home assistant setup instead?

Anyone have a comparison with this versus the one on sale at Costco?

https://www.costco.com/lorex-4k%2...97081.html
My sister just bought the bundle from costco (not delivered yet) and i have a system from Lorex(costco) with the same camera as in this deal. I think the newer one just has fancy color light and no other advantages. I would get this one from buydig which is much better deal than the one form costco. But I feel more comfortable with costco warranty.

How is the low-light performance on these cameras? Is the image sharp enough to distinguish faces at night time?

To me the biggest difference is the buydig kit comes with a 16 port Poe NVR. If I want to add more cameras on to my 8 camera Costco kit, I have to use wifi cameras with separate power or add another poe switch.

I believe so as long as you replace everything except the cables.
