This looks interesting, though I admit being more nervous about tablet refurbs where you can't replace the battery.
I bet these are open box units with new batteries. Also, you can replace almost everything inside thinkpad x12 and dell 7320 (thinkpad x12 a little bit more), including battery, because they are held together by screws, unlike ipad and surface pro which are assembled by glue. https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/...-20uv-20uw

Oh damn, that's really good to know. Been debating about a 2-in-1, gonna have to do some more research on this one.
A fraction of the price of those APPLE machines too -- this is a bargain for something that has twice the ram and storage of the cheapest APPLE laptop....and oh, this also has a TOUCHSCREEN and PEN INPUT. You don't find those on the Aluminum Fruit.

My 2012 and 2014 MacBooks still work to this day. The 2014 is running Maverick and will upgrade to Sonoma shortly thanks to Open Core Patcher. Can't really say that for most Windows laptops. There's value in that amount of longevity and support, just like there's value in a cheap Windows laptop. Just get what works for you.

There is a similar laptop with i7 instead for the same price - which one is better?
Don't feel too bad about missing out. As could be predicted for a tablet form factor device, heat/power management limits the long-term ability of the CPU to boost.

2012 and 2014 --- and you're comparing those against an 11th gen i5.
Go ahead and keep using them! Please recommend to me an Apple laptop with touchscreen and pen input. I mean, maybe I'm mouldy with my fruit, but I don't recall those being a feature on the 2012 or 2014 versions.
Bought this laptop last November when it was the same price. I wanted a laptop with good pen feature to create some basic IT infra diagrams and this has been phenomenal. I got a Wacom tablet later on and wanted to sell this but my wife wasn't willing to let this one go after using it for some time and she was mac user before. The only issue I had was laptop stand was more like a tablet stand and the laptop would fall flat when slightly moved back. I wish they had some thing like x360 laptop at this price

For many use cases, this would only allow the i7 to be marginally better than the "lesser" i5 in this particular application.
Good luck!
Jon
