9 mhz refresh rate will make the screen so laggy, that you will be irritated. I had the Scout 9mhz and had to send it back it was so bad.

Um, maybe you mean near frequency of light ? Because frequency is not a measure of speed. Radio waves and light waves travel at the same speed, speed of light, but their frequencies are different. But I do agree with you that if this thermal imager operated at 9mhz (9 million cycles per second) that would be incredible and probably the fastest refresh rate on the planet if it was even at all possible. Far more likely it is 9hz (9 cycles per second).

I have the cheapy $600 FLIR and it works fine. Sure, it's not military spec but for fun and checking a/c leaks and what not it works perfect. I can tell a person or animal easily at 80yds.
