Those are some advertising lies. K&N are CARB approved CAIs which mean they are the same size and flow as stock so as to not alter the way a MAF sensor reads. If there is any gain from having one it is from the filter element, in which case a less expensive drop in filter accomplishes the same thing.

cold air is louder than warm air.. so thats how you know youre getting the coldest of cold air.. i definitely get 50 more horsepower during the winter
It never seems louder when I walk out in the cold. lol That said, it does compress better with forced induction and certainly adds to the butt dyno.

Useless on naturally aspirated cars. Only turbo or supercharger cars can use more air and cooler air for boost.
Cooler air is still more dense than heated air. It may not have as much effect as on a forced induction but its not useless. Getting a more efficient path into the intake can help engine performance aswell.

You are getting a louder car and putting dirt into your engine.
Louder is the more direct sound of the throttle coming from the open filter vs stock where the sound is muffled by an air box. Best way to get that screaming intake sound is to buy an old carbureted car and womp on it with the air box off. Modern EFI cars with their MAF / MAP system will throttle down without those sensors connected.

You can get dirt in a stock system too if your intake is not sealed properly via clamps and clips. So no, you wouldn't get more dirt just by installing an aftermarket system.

Not that it's a very useful system to have in a mostly stock vehicle anyway.

The KN filters did the worst on Project Farm in terms of filtration.

With that said, I've put over 130,000mi on my last vehicle while using KN/AEM filter medias without issues. ie. No piston ring scoring, excessive carbon build up, abnormal sensor failures, or damage otherwise, no premature catalytic failure. The Combustion chamber actually looked better than a GDI vehicle after 5k miles. lol

However… that may all be due to meticulously maintaining the darn thing like many guys do.

So ymmv.

I used to put cold air intakes on my vehicles when I was younger. I can't say if kits like these really helped add power, but you do get a louder noise from under the hood under wide open throttle if that's your thing.

Otherwise it comes with a reusable cone filter, which is nice, but you can buy a drop in K&N reusable filter for less and probably get the same performance.

I'd also like to note that the power they claim is not necessarily peak horsepower, meaning that if you normally make 300, you might not make 310 (or whatever the claim is for your application), but that it could be elsewhere in the powerband.

Makes my Telsa run faster. Ran an extension hose back to the battery to cool it.

I want a cold water intake for my Honda Civic so I can be just like Vin Diesel. If you wonder why I call it a cold water intake. These tools would add these to their cars and place the filter like 6" off the ground. So when it rained and they went through deep water on the road. The little vacuum cleaner they hooked up to their throttle sucked in all that fresh cold puddle water. Had one hooked in where he thought his starter was bad only to find the entire intake filled with water and bent rods. Now we're fast and furious for real.

Won't add any more power...just more intake noise so you think it has more power. Don't waste your money.
