Surprisingly our MALM bed has lasted over 10 years of being used by my then bachelor husband, then by us and now in the guest room for past 3 years and in between dis-assembled, moved and re-assembled twice. It's only started to creak a bit now when our 3 kids jump on it as if it were trampoline.
I first bought these on sale in 2009-10 time frame for $40 each (bought 3 at the time)
Then a couple of years ago bought a couple for $70 if I remember correctly.
They are $150 regular price now? That is crazy. They are good dressers though. My first 3 survived a move from Florida to Texas fully assembled and my second 2 survived a move from Las Vegas to Virginia fully assembled.

Also IKEA has free small parts replacement for life. Ordered glides for my malm dresser. Didn't need to provide proof of purchase. Google IKEA parts.

Bought a 6 drawer malm and 3 drawer malm a couple years ago.
The 6 drawer was nice, due to the extra size, but it was considerably more difficult to move up and down stairs.
Sold both of them, and there seemed to be far more interest in the 3 drawer.
Learned from my lesson, and when I moved to a new place just bought two sets of 3 drawer malms.
If you live alone I'd definitely opt for the 3 drawer (getting the 6 drawer home and assembling it wouldn't be that big of a deal, but moving it would be a real pain after that).

Nashville doesn't have an IKEA, the closest one is 4 hours one way in any direction. So they offer the doorstep delivery for $99, or delivery to a central hub in Nashville for $30. (not an IKEA store, just a pickup hub. Probably near the airport)
I haven't seen other companies offering a central hub like this before, but it's a pretty interesting concept. I wonder if they're doing central hubs near other major cities without IKEAs? I never considered IKEA before, but it's definitely an option now.

I have the 6 drawer unit which I got on a great sale for $99 in store several years ago. What someone else mentioned about moving it upstairs: totally right lol.
It's rather sturdy especially after moving it twice but I really am not crazy about this color in person. Might just be the quality of the veneer but it is quite unpleasant once any light hits it.
