Also IKEA has free small parts replacement for life. Ordered glides for my malm dresser. Didn't need to provide proof of purchase. Google IKEA parts.

Thanks OP, just ordered my 4th MALM dresser

Surprisingly our MALM bed has lasted over 10 years of being used by my then bachelor husband, then by us and now in the guest room for past 3 years and in between dis-assembled, moved and re-assembled twice. It's only started to creak a bit now when our 3 kids jump on it as if it were trampoline.

I first bought these on sale in 2009-10 time frame for $40 each (bought 3 at the time)

Then a couple of years ago bought a couple for $70 if I remember correctly.

They are $150 regular price now? That is crazy. They are good dressers though. My first 3 survived a move from Florida to Texas fully assembled and my second 2 survived a move from Las Vegas to Virginia fully assembled.

IKEA furniture pricing has pretty much doubled since the start of the pandemic. I also have a MALM bed frame that has lasted well over 8 years without issue, but back when I bought it the pricing was much more reasonable than it is now. Other items have also doubled in price (HEMNES furniture for example).

Do these have soft close? Not sure if that's implied by smooth running drawers.

I almost fast read this as it only started creaking after making 3 kids.

Same! I just started to junk mine, but it never really ever broke. Had it for 19yrs years in 6 different apartments. I had the one with the flip top mirror. They don't make that anymore, unfortunately.

Wow, I bought exact same thing back in 2007. I still have it. It is not the best quality but gets you through the years. I bought it back then for $25.00

These do not have soft close. The default rails are smooth sliding but you'd have to find soft close rails if you want that feature. Don't know if ikea has them for the malm.
