I've done experiments with these things compared to using plain Miracle-Gro mixed with water. The difference is amazing. The spikes are worthless compared to Miracle-Gro. Same plants, 4 spikes to a 6" pot, and one dose of Miracle-Gro in the other pots. The Miracle-Gro (or any similar ingredient plant food) results produce fast and rapid growth. The spikes do nothing that I can see. I've tried in on at least 4 different species, side by side.

Never used these before. Can I use the same when I bring some of the bigger plants indoor during winter? If so, do I need to put more than one stick depending on the size of the pot (say 12/14" pots)?

For bigger plans I use Alaska fish emulsion from Home Depot, works great!

I don't grow as many houseplants anymore, but it's the season to bring in my not so hardy plants. What kind of plants didn't give you a strong response? I'm asking come next March I'll often give them a boost before putting them out in April or May. Thanks.
NPK numbers are missing from description. A reviewer stated a NPK ratio which is not the same. Approach with caution. Avoid using for plants you do not want to lose.
