iRobot tech and support are both not great, yet they charge Apple prices. They used to be good but now they're behind the curve. My new purchase of this unit stopped working after 18 months and they wanted half the cost of buying a new one to repair it. I threw it in the trash and haven't looked back from Roborock since. Much better mapping, can operate well without all the lights turned on due to LIDAR usage, better features, etc. for the same price. I still have a 6 or 7 year old Roomba that is still more reliable than this unit ever was.

Bc SDeals community loves Roborock and hates everything else (not saying they aren't great vacuums but so it the J7+)

great unit; got one from a pallete reseller and it still is going two years later

great upgrade from neato which has been stuck in 2015 with no base; this doesn't have mop functionality like the newer j7/8 but it's not necessary

the vslam functionality didn't really give me problems compared to their lidar counterparts like s9

This has great reviews from tech publications but wonder about the lack of love from the SDeals community.

The j7 is the first robot that I have that I could turn on scheduling without worrying much. Have Neato Botvac Connected, D4 and a Roborock S7 as previous robots. We'd put away all the cat toys that we find before each vacuum cycle. Cats will leave toys in the robot paths and get them jammed up on purpose. j7's camera works well enough to avoid sucking in the fuzzy puff toys, feathers and whatever they decide to dig from their toy basket. Also don't miss the lidar either. It seems to navigate just as well.

I wish the app was easier to use. Trying to make rooms and dividers is a pain. Waiting for the map to save in between editing is a pain.

Thanks! Bought a second one! I've been using one for a few years and it's great. Moving into a place with a finished basement, so this will be handy downstairs. Also, I can probably save on brushes, filters and bags by buying a larger quantity now

Considering the j9+ just came out probably first of several deals on a solid vacuum.

I have almost this exact same experience with this company and this vacuum. Only difference is, I went through two.

Where is that palette reseller? Care to share the knowledge?

I'm looking into Roborock too but I have been reading mixed reviews about how they do on carpet. I have low pile carpet at home. Just need something simple to help with allergy. Do you have any recommendations? Thanks!

Bought the i9 and have used it exactly five times and not in two years. It doesn't pick up much in terms of animal hair and dander and leaves a ton of dust behind that can be picked up with a decent regular vacuum. Might work for you if you take your shoes off when you go inside and don't have pets. And not a bad deal at this price. Full price feels like a ripoff.
