Had this card before. Hated it. So hard to utlize rewards because you can only cash out exact dollar amounts in like $25 increments.

Data point: I have a WF checking since 2016. I kept getting mailers for their Active Cash which I wasn't interested in. I went ahead and applied for the Autograph and was instantly approved for $15k limit. My FICO is 704.

Do you even need to apply for this card? Won't they just sign up a bunch of people and pay a fine later on when caught?

Or, you can be on the winning side of the sketchy credit market and take advantage of crazy options like this. Easy money.

Seems like you could. Or, can you find $1500 in purchases in 90 days you'd otherwise put on the card?

Remember this card is very difficult to cancel. Expect to spend at least an hour of being bounced agent to agent to cancel.
I don't think I've ever tried to cancel any WF card since there's no annual fee, but I did find this:

"Unfortunately, Wells Fargo doesn't allow customers to cancel accounts online. This is true for both deposit accounts and credit cards. In order to cancel a credit card from Wells Fargo, you should call 1-800-642-4720 to speak to a representative about closing your account"

Can anyone else share their experience with this? Also, FWIW, closing credit cards does tend to negatively impact credit scores, so if no annual fee, might be better off leaving it open to increase your score.

I cancelled a WF balance transfer card recently, it went fine. You're right, I had to call, but I think that's common. They've gotten in trouble in the past (multiple times) for opening new checking accounts for existing customers without telling them, so I understand why people are wary.

Closing a credit card might lower your credit score, especially if you do it too often. But it also could raise your credit score if you're closing a relatively new card that's dragging the average age of your accounts down. If it's a card that is older than your other accounts (meaning it's keeping your average up) and it has no annual fee, then yes, I agree that it's best to keep it open.
