"… earn 7,000 bonus points when they first activate this offer and then purchase a flight and hotel stay totaling $105.00 or more through Chase Travel **that are both completed by 1/31/24 11:59 PM ET**"
I take "that are both completed" as both flight and hotel stay have to be taken before 1/31/24. But I'd be happy to be proven wrong.
applies even if we dont travel or stay in hotel?

I have booked hotels with chase and I have found them cheaper compared to other 3rd party websites
This is so true. I don't know how many times Chase has failed me on trying to find a room that was at least the same price as direct or 3rd party booking. The reason I downgraded my preferred was because it had the $50 credit but rooms were not available through travel portal. But if I called chase directly to book they could do it but not apply $50 credit or use special chase offers to help discount. It gets worse every year. $150 room on booking.Com / $190 on chase and the point equivalent is to $190. They are not doing favors .

Does it work just hotel? Lol
Chase Travel is skinned on top of Expedia. It is just Expedia with Chase logo
Been a couple years for me, but the hotels and flights I booked it was the same dollar price point with the extra bonus of 1.5x point redemption on the reserve. My destinations were only Vegas and socal though so maybe that makes a difference
I'm crushed.
So I was curious if what some people here were saying since I don't use Chase Travel much. I just did a comparison on chase and Expedia. Same hotel and same date and same room. Hyatt Regency Los Angeles Internation Airport from Dec 1 to Dec 3, 2 queen room. Both show the same exact price of $386 total. I did it with some other hotels and again same price. Where exactly are people getting 10-20% more? I always though Chase was powered by Expedia in the first place?
I ended purchasing directly from the airline though (since Chase was not a partner with that airline).
Does this transaction have to be both a flight and hotel? or just either or?

Not look like to be, it seems it is much more expensive than Expedia, everything is more expensive in Chase portal
