Helping my uncle look for a set for his new house and couldn't find any details about the sensor for this listing.
For awhile Lorex kits at Costco were getting better each round, including with larger sensors.
They hit a nice size of 8MP 1/1.8" sensor .. and then started to shrink with the sensor .. right around the pandemic time frame.
The original kit, I noted in that thread, when it came out was very nice .. as it was hard to find 8MP cameras back then ..
Now, I can not recommend the smaller sensor Lorex cameras to my friends ..
At this time, probably the best is to assemble your own kit ...
( I'd go with a used business class 8th gen or better PC .. PoE switch and then Dahua OEM or Hikvision OEM cameras with larger sensors .. 4MP and 1/1.8" or 8MP and 1/1.2" .. )
look for Dahua OEM 4MP 1/1.8" sensor models from EmpireTech Andy ( empiretecandy iirc at ipcamtalk ) .. he has a amazon strore front, and probably will have some sort of black Friday deals .. various models to pick from .. will be like 54xx for the model number iirc
I'd check the threads and reviews from the other ipcamtalk members ..
Annke may have some deals on 8MP 1/1.2" ( Hikvision OEM ) models .. if you watch for them, they often have coupon / discount codes for a particular model .. ( note, Annke just don't expect them to update the firmware .. old hikvision cube camera sold years ago had a security flaw in the installed firmware .. had to update those cameras .. )
