Einstein-

They've been doing it by actually paying a little attention to this thread (a simple search maybe?) instead of asking a question that's been asked and answered multiple times.

You're welcome.

I'm a Google Fi customer with my family and was about to buy my Pro there. But this deal is so good that I'm thinking I'll bite the bullet, port my number over, run 60 days of service on Spectrum and then port back to my family plan. Trading in my S22 makes this ~$180 with 2 months of service & setup fees

Anyone seeing any faults in my logic here? What's the service like on Spectrum in remote areas?
Would you port the whole family or just your line? If just one line out of 3-4-5?, and if you have a spare phone, you could see if it makes sense to just open a new line on the $14/mo 1gb plan, then take the phone to fi when unlocked. I've had luck talking spectrum reps into unlocking my phones on these deals right away without having to wait, though that's a big YMMV. Also, I'm not sure if your s22 would be more valuable if sold separately and you used a different phone to trade, if available.

Of course I'm over-thinking and making this a convoluted cluster for you when indeed your plan sounds just fine if the numbers you've come up with work.

And spectrum service in remote areas is also YMMV but should be similar the vzn. I'm northern Chicagoland I've found it overall equal to our better than my old ATT-driven Cricket service.

Anything special to say in getting them unlocked instantly or is it basically just random luck and patience finding the right rep? By phone or by chat? Thanks for any tips!

The first one was on the phone, I was telling the rep I needed to bring a second number (it was true, as I have a work line) to the same phone ASAP so I didn't have to carry two phones and she offered to do the unlock- that was right after the phone was activated.

The other two were in-store, after schmoozing with a couple of the reps about maybe bringing the rest of my family's lines over to Spectrum (which I eventually did) and discussing the high cost of their internet service and the fact that we're soon going to have numerous choices per a fibercity installation as opposed to the current Spectrum monopoly. Get recognized at the store and interject a legit issue that may cost them or make them money...I think it helped in my situation and the reps very willingly unlocked.

Thank you, appreciate your thoughts. It would be just my line as my wife has 2 lines (work + personal) and my daughter, so 3 lines on Fi is roughly equivalent cost. I was considering what you suggested, grabbing the $14 plan for 2 months and porting back but no leftover phones hanging around that I can trade in. I'd also like to be rid of my S22 with the current state of the battery and how difficult its become to charge.

I think this reinforces that I may just pull the trigger on it, though if I could also get it unlocked early that would be a huge boon as well. Though, I'm not banking on it.

My phones are on the FedEx truck out for delivery. I went into my account and already successfully activated both phones and got my 2 new numbers.

*the $29.99 plan says 30GB of high speed before you sign up and then it shows 20GB of high speed in my account once I activated the lines*

30 is the right number, their response when I called them on this previously is "I guess we just haven't updated that section yet." Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)
