Amazon just announced upgrades to the Fire family.

I'm guessing that's why you're seeing existing/old models selling cheap.

i have the 24" version of this (which is on sale at Best Buy for $60 right now: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/insi...Id=6395125 )
I got it because it fit under a cabinet in my son's room. He never used it. Effectively, an iPad held close to you feels bigger and works easier. I now have it in my home office. It's fine but I would take the money back and get a larger and higher resolution tv if I could swap. In the end, it's tiny and mid-quality and you can get a lot more tv for so cheap these days that even these cheap tvs are hard to justify.

I need a tv for my craft room. How bad would 720 be after watching 4K???
It's very hard go back to 720 after having real 4k. You WILL notice how bad it is. At $80 it won't feel that bad, but I used to think back in 2012 that my 720p LED tv was the best thing ever. Now I can unsee the inferior quality.

I wish 720p tvs would go away. 1080p on a 27" monitor is meh, but if you sit far away enough the screen door effect is lessened. I would just get a nicer used TV instead of this.

I got the same model in the 43" size for the same price from eBay a few months back and use it as a bedroom TV

I hooked up an nVidia Shield to it and also a vizio sound bar I had and it was perfect for the bedroom.

The interface on these fire tvs is painfully slow. Mine takes 5 Mississippis from pressing the settings button to open the settings menu.

If you're looking for a cheap TV for spare room, you should be able to find used 40-50" plasmas for under $50. Way better picture than this but it'll be heavy and uses more power.

I love the sarcasm. It's probably lost on many. 😝

"TVs so cheap you can justify buying one by putting it in any room that doesn't already have one."

What kind of of price range for full HD can we get these days? Of any size though I know it probably doesn't get smaller than 32".

any idea if this would be a good 2nd monitor for work connected to laptop?

or would it flicker and be all giberishish and clobberclad.

I bought a couple for my kids a few years back. Still going strong. Those had Roku OS though.

I used an older LG 720p for a work monitor and it works fine.

I have this tv and for the money, it's fine. Just for fun, I hooked up my 4k Sony blu-ray player to it and put in the remastered The Ten Commandments movie in 4k to it. Was pleasantly surprised how nice the picture looked.

For 80 bucks it's just fine for what it is.
