This is the new world. Amazon charging $2 for in-garage option. Prime videos will have ads with no price reduction. Restaurants charging "inflation fees." Fast food places charging an extra $1 for a thimble of ketchup. Veterinarians charging $25 fee to administer your own meds to a pet while they are hospitalized and a $15 fee to approve an Rx. Local hospital charging my insurance company an $1,800(!) "facility fee" for every 1-hour outpatient physical therpay session (on top of the PT charge) - 3x per week!. Some warehouses are now charing $200 to pick up orders. It's all ridiculous. The consuer is now paying for the cost of business twice - once w/ the item that already has these costs built into the price and a second time with the standlone fees.

All the Sam's Club deals are usually new members only. We just alternate account names between the wife and I.

New email, new dummy address, virtual credit card, random phone number, random name, VPN or use mobile data. That should bypass whatever they're checking. They don't verify ID or need to print cards these days.

I alternate between the wife and I each year and this year was her name's turn. I created another Yahoo alias, but same house address but her phone number and CC. I got a message pop up asking if I was a new member (saying "as you appear to be familiar") or renewing, and obviously clicked on new member. That never showed up before so they appear to be getting smarter, however it did work so I got the membership for $15.

It was indeed the phone number for me. Used one of my Gmail addresses with a +1, with my friends phone number (was pretty sure he hasn't had a membership before). Worked. Changed back to my phone number in the app.

I 've just use my same email address with same address to join (That account was expired few years ago) and at the final step they pop up a message said : Your membership was expired, and gave me option to renew or create a new account. I chose to create new account and it went thru ok.

Might be a good idea if there's a Sam's club near you, don't waste your money otherwise, I find that I'm too far away for most deliveries (35 miles) and those items that I can get delivered will charge for delivery, unless you upgrade the membership. What's the advantage? I'll stick with Costco or local Walmart.

Not at all! Costco charges 4 times more for basic. I have memberships of both and can comfortably say that Sam's matches or has better prices on many of the products including dry fruits, oils, Italian, baby diapers, etc. Not to mention that Sam's app is much better than Costco's and their scan & go is among the best out there.
