This frameset is exactly as shown in the pictures and does not include any additional parts needed for a complete bike build. It does NOT come with hardware, grommets/cable stops, seatpost, axles, or headset.
For the best guidance on sourcing the necessary parts we suggest getting in touch with your local Trek dealer. They have the expertise to help you select the right components based on your specific fit needs and groupset requirements. This will ensure that you have a successful and smooth bike build experience.
Please be aware that this frame is a genuine Trek product and is covered by a full factory warranty if it is assembled at a Trek dealer. Keep the build invoice and proof of purchase for future reference in case of warranty claims.
Wheel & Sprocket via bikeexchange.com is having a sale on high end MY 2022 Trek road frames. $1499 for each. Frame small parts are not included, but it's still a great deal for frames that are still retailing for $4200 on trek's website.
Madone is their aero race bike, Emonda is their lightweight weight climbing bike., Domane is their endurance/comfort geometry frame. All have been raced in one form or another by the pros depending on terrain/needs.
Tell us you are clueless about bikes without telling us you are clueless….🤦 ♂️

So a pretty ignorant question. Is it common to buy a frame like this and have a bike shop build it out for you? Or do most people that buy frames do the assembly on their own?

Kinda both, a wrencher will use this to build it up or someone that wants/needs a new frame buys this and has shop change it out for them.
Great deal. I have an '18 Emonda SLR Disc that has a bottom bracket creak that the dealer can't fix and not covered under warranty. They quoted me almost 3k for a new frame as a "previous owner" good deal. This really beats that by a mile.

Unless you know what you're doing and have the proper tools, you are better off paying a bike shop to build the bike for you. Some may charge you a higher price if you don't buy either the frameset or the components from them, but most will build it with all your own parts for a fee. Some shops won't build it if you bring in worn out components.

REI offers bike assembly. Prices may vary by location.
