I bought one last time it was $50. It is a novelty and I pull it out with the kids. It has little ground clearance, is rear wheel drive and does not have a limited slip rear differential (so one tire will spin if it is slightly off the ground). All that to say, it does not do good off pavement (can barely go through the grass).

However, it is fun to run around on the street; assuming you already have Hart 20v batteries, it is great being able to pull it out randomly and have batteries ready to go even if I hadn't driven it in a couple months. It is not a hobby grade RC by any means but it is pretty rugged and has taken a couple nasty hits to the curb and seems to keep going.

I think it is a pretty good deal @ $50 if you already have a couple of 20v Hart batteries.

I'm tempted. But last I was checking it out it seemed like the motors on these got smoked pretty easy.

How's your experience been OP? have you used it much or just once out of the box?

I don't know how I feel about this. It seems like it would burn thru your battery longevity faster than normal. And 20mph top speed. I can see this for little kids not teens or adults.

I was seriously considering this if I knew it would run on the 18v Robi with an adapter.

You can get a cheap hobby grade rc car from Amazon. My kids had it for 1.5 year and it still works great. All parts are upgradable and replacable.

I ordered one. I have a bunch of Ryobi adapters laying around. I was just worried about 18v vs 20v being an issue. It's fine on dumb tools but I'm assuming this has finer electronics

18v vs 20v is all marketing: https://www.protoolreviews.com/20...ery-power/

The only thing to be wary of is the LVC (low voltage cut-off) is located in different places in the varying brands. Sometimes it is in the tool/car, and sometimes it is in the battery. If cells are discharged beyond the appropriate voltage, smart chargers (which is almost all of them these days) will not detect them or will give an error reading. Over discharging is bad for the cells and greatly increases battery wear, but often will still be usable if you can bring it back using a dumb charger or some other jump starting method (there are many of which on youtube).

I agree with this 100% For $20 more ($10 if you can catch it on a better sale) you will get an awesome car with battery and charger, not the best of either but good enough for the car.

I am an rc junkie, so I am interested in this hart RC and would even like to drive one, but the 16889 is a great beginner rc that can take abuse, has parts available (online only), and can be upgraded. I would feel like I wasted money if I bought one of the hart rc's... If I already owned the hart batteries I might feel a little different.

They also have the 1/18th scale brushless on sale. My buddy has one and the thing flies around pretty good.
