The cvrp is the state sponsored rebate. Funds are drying up (wait list only now), but it can't hurt to apply.
Each air district does its own thing. Monterey Bay had $2k but that ran out in July. San Joaquin Valley is still $3k. Not sure about the others.
Tesla insurance would be 90$ a month
While you are saving money, you're also driving an old car with old tech and old safety. I won't even talk about worn out surfaces and smell...even a new car at three years starts getting a little gamey.
Driving a new car is almost always nicer, so who cares how many miles a car will last...it's like talking about my iPhone. I'm getting rid of it within three years or less...
This is Slickdeals...not frugal living or the pennypincher.
the eff... slickdeals is the meaning of frugal living....we are here to find deals. if deals aren't frugal living. then the heck is it?
people brag about their high mileage is saving money in itself.

New Honda Prologue if you can wait
why would you wait for a rebadged GM you can already get today that doesn't get any less crap by having a Honda badge slapped on it?
For now, the only Tesla available with the LFP battery is the Cybertruck.
None of that is accurate. You are confusing the 4680 cells (which are NOT LFP, and are made in the US) which are what was in the no-longer-sold standard range AWD and what is expected to go into the cybertruck.
LFPs appear in the current RWD 3 and Y.
Hybrids are worse than either of course.
Every 3 years they repeat the same claim about how it'll be out in a few years.
And it never is.
They are way behind pretty much everyone in the industry in the EV switch- so they keep repeating the same "BETTER MAGIC TECH FROM US IN A COUPLE YEARS" to scare people into not buying current products.
Don't fall for it.
By which measure? Any time I did any analysis on EVs and Teslas I see ZERO sustainability.
Where can we read your "analysis" since it's counter to every one I've ever actually seen published?

In an ICE vehicle In total, approximately 75 to 84 percent of the original gasoline's energy is lost.
Ah but some power plants use dirty stuff to make power you say? Yes-- but even THEN it is far more efficient to burn it centrally and turn it into electricity for cars.
Even if the grid were entirely fueled by coal, 31% less energy would be needed to charge EVs than to fuel gasoline cars.
And of course only about 20% of our grid is coal- most is even cleaner and more efficient than that.

Lithium is one of the most common elements on earth.
The US is home to what are believed to be the world's largest lithium deposits after those in the so-called Lithium Triangle region in South America
It's just currently CHEAPER to get it from Australia and other places, so we do.
But we've got PLENTY more than enough locally if we wished to mine it.

Unless you're using it to engage in crime though why would you care?
