Well, it's a good thing China, who mines most of the rare earth minerals used in EV batteries, has an impeccable record when it comes to human rights. Even better, they're not allies with other countries that invade their peaceful neighbors like Russia

😒
So it would make you happy knowing Tesla is redesigning motor to ditch rare earth minerals.

the 2k drop will go to new tires like every 6 months.....
False. 15k miles in on MYP still has good life left on original tires. Don't go tracking in a car and complain about tire burn out.

People who aren't buying EVs fall into any of three camps: 1) an EV just isn't suitable for them, 2) they haven't yet realized that an EV is suitable for them, 3) they can't afford them. If an EV is not suitable for you then nobody can tell you it is. Any arguments for EVs here are really for the benefit of the #2's who are not also #3's.

A year ago I was a no-EV no-Musk person - I now have a Model Y. I spent a lot of time educating myself about EV's and about Musk and changed my mind. The more people that own EV's, the easy the decision becomes. Five years from now, EVs will be the norm. Most multi-car households will have at least one EV. There will always be luddites but they will look increasingly more crazy as the years pass.
#4 a lot of people who buy EV can't afford gas prices maybe ??.
#5 Who are short who fit in smaller car because most EVs are small for 1-1 comparison..

Whenever people bring up the 1-hour charging time during a long drive, Most EV users justify by saying 'Oh we need to pee anyway" " Oh need to stretch your legs anyway", "Oh need a beak anyway""..

I'm not here to justify EV vs non-EV but what I said was, EVs are great for my use -case whn they meet those requirements.. Thatz all. no need to get worked up so fast

...what?

EVs tend to be larger interiors (and cargo) than comparable exterior sized ICE cars because they don't waste a bunch of space on unneeded parts like a big gas engine, a transmission, a driveshaft, etc...My Model 3 has a couple inches more headroom both front and rear than the similar-sized Lexus IS350 is replaced for example, and a LOT more cargo space.

No, they correct the ignorant person making the 1 hour claim since in a Tesla anyway you'd typically only need to stop for 10-15 minutes... which, indeed, is how long I'd typically have stopped at a gas station anyway for exactly those reasons.

If I am above the income limit, I won't get the credit right?

I wonder if I should trade in my model 3 for model y. I hate all the interior noise from model 3.
it is about the same with Model Y.

Interior noise? I don't know why my shitty model 3 makes so much interior noise.

However, the car is so much bette than the garbage BMW x4 because everything is automated. The shitty BMW still need the stupid key for unlock and lock.
Cabin noise is to be expected standard EVs. Most luxury EVs come standard with quiet cabins.

Now a rebate on a $50k car qualifies as "welfare"? Hey, if you buy an ICE car for $40k, you get to keep the "extra" $10k for your own personal rebate 🤭
You honestly don't see an issue with people who don't owe taxes getting $7500 tax credit and people who do gets the same treatment?

That's probably because you're old and stubborn but new generations will get adrenaline going just fine with future sport EVs such as the roadster, as long as they're quick, fast and have great handling
Old and stubborn, me? No way. I spent years changing the minds of old narrow minded car enthusiasts by giving them a test drive in a performance model 3/S.

Its actually really satisfying and funny to see someone so hateful towards teslas/evs laughing and smiling once they smash the accelerator at a stoplight. Acceleration/handling is most of the experience, but its not all of it. Feeling the drivetrain and shifting through the gears can never be truly replicated with an ev. You have to drive it to know.

With that being said, sounds to me sir like youve never driven a real sports car. Am I wrong?

The AWD and range increase makes this a decently easy choice now, frankly these cars last forever, teslas ability to make the car an appliance means youll likely keep it in your family for years upon years, youll either give it to your parents, sister, kid, etc after 8 years. $4500 over 8 years is only extra $562. Its almost "regret insurance" at that point, if every year you get into a situation where you wish you had awd and slightly more range than youll kick yourself for not having gotten this. (I also think the LR has subwoofers and rwd doesnt... but someone would have to confirm that for me)
Not if you live where they salt the roads. It will rust out. Too bad the y isn't aluminum like the x or and f150 or stainless like ct.

Does anyone trust the Germans to make electric right? They can't do radios correctly, let alone a BEV drivetrain. Exhibit A: my gas Audi is currently in the shop for a failed mild hybrid system belt starter generator.
