On the other hand, this is no longer a steal of a deal.
You can have government issued bullion for less on Walmart or eBay after cash back, etc.
The very first deal of $1900 when spot was $1930 was sweet. Now? Not so much. Looks like Costco is rolling then out slowly to keep up the interest and excitement of the "hunt."

A gold bar like the one available at Costco has about a 1.5% premium over the spot rate at your local gold shop. And for taxes, most states don't charge taxes on bullion; regardless of where you buy from, either bullion is taxed in your state or it is not, buying from Costco is not advantageous in that case (tax treatment should be the same at your gold dealer or Costco; it is location dependant).
Example: Gold spot now is $1834/oz, a generic 24k gold bar oz like the one advertised is $1860/oz at my local shop (in WA), 1 oz Pamp Suisse Gold Bar is $1884, and this Costco deal is $1880.
So the moral of the story is to check with your local shop - it may be a better deal!
