Higher resolution doesn't always mean better photos. Especially in this case. MKBHD actually tested the top premium and mid tier phones last year with 21 million votes in a blind test to see which phone takes the best pictures and the Pixel 6a actually won (by comparison, the iPhone got like 9th place, from what I remember). I have this phone and it does indeed take great pics. I actually prefer to use it as my daily driver over my Pixel 7

No. Do not insert the 6a SIM in other phones at any time or you may lose the service!
You need to activate 6a first because the service is preloaded to the SIM, which is paired to the 6a IMEI. If you want to unlock 6a, wait 60 days. If not, you don't need to wait (maybe a day or two). To transfer the service to your parents' phone, buy a $1 TF SIM Kit and follow the mini guide [reddit.com] to transfer phone # and service (At Step 3, select 'Keep Your Own Phone' and it will ask for IMEI of the phone you want to use and the SIM ICCID from the $1 Kit.)

Yes, wifi and light use it's not bad. However, 5G saps the battery fast (there's a way to adjust the bands it uses so it will stay on LTE rather than 5G and prolong battery life, but I haven't noticed a big savings). Pixel is definitely a better choice than any of the A series Samsung phones.

Have it since launch. It is an ok phone I guess. $170 is an okay price. There are other options from Metro, but tracfone has the best unlock policy.

If you do not need the flagship performance and camera, then a Galaxy A14 5G would be a lot cheaper. Or S21 FE 5G would be about the same price from Metro.

I purchased a phone on eBay that came with a service bundle. I activated the phone by merging the balance with an existing line. However, I discovered that the phone is defective and needs to be returned. I'm unsure about what will happen to the service portion. Will they only remove the newly added service time, or will they completely erase the entire balance associated with that phone number? Does anyone have any experience with this?
