These constantly disconnect and need to be reset or unplugged and replugged in. Had a lot of headaches with it. Set up was a breeze though

I've also read about this before and wondering how other's experience has been. I have the first gen which also has occasional disconnects

It's constant. I've had one of these for a few years and am now in the market for a new mesh router system

Can't speak to this model, but I had all sorts of issues with Google WiFi (gen 1) and Nest WiFi Pro. Luckily, I was able to return the Pro set and get a Deco mesh system instead.

I have this model. I don't have drops and it has worked very well. This model is a bit dated at this point though.

Have this one, extremely difficult to work with, especially with all the random disconnects.

It's a Google product. Can't say when they reduce functionality or abandon support. Pay a little more and get something else given that a Wi-Fi AP is an important piece of hardware in any home.

turn around and run, I wouldnt take these even if they are free, you will pay with you infinite time spent getting it working and keeping them working. The worst router set I have ever owned and very basic features.

I've been using the 1st gen Google Wifi router with 3 total nodes for almost 6 years now. I never have any issues with it.

I had 1st gen and now 2nd gen of this. Never had any big issues with any of the them. When it started to disconnect I changed my modem. Since then ( about 2 years) I never had to restart. Basically set it and forget it type of system.

Guys, buying WiFi 5 router or AP just doesn't make sense anymore. The WiFi5 enterprise AP (Cisco/Atuba) can be find on eBay for 10-20 bucks, and will likely be miles better than this one.

Own this 2nd gen Google WiFi for about 5 years now. There were some connection issues early on but I think they resolved those with firmware updates. Been quite solid for me, but at this point in time I agree with the others saying that it's outdated and functionality is meh. I do use the Google Points with Hey Google to set timers, play Spotify, ask questions, etc. But if that's not your use case, look elsewhere. For me, I would look for a mesh system capable of adding a VPN.
