Respectfully disagree. I've had the same set for around 5 years. Just finally replaced them this year. They are a great product. My truck is parked outside 100% of the time as is the wife's car. We are on So Cal.

If you own a German vehicle, check to see if your model sizes are listed under the Bosch "aerotwin" line. I don't know about compatibility with other regions. I have found them to be comparable to Icons at a fraction of the price. Lately, I have bought my last 4-5 sets on sale for well under $30.

Edit: in fact they are $22 in my size for VW golf/GTI/R Bosch Wiper Blade Aerotwin A863S, Length: 650mm/450mm – Set of Front Wiper Blades - Only for Left-Hand Drive (EU) https://a.co/d/0EraXza

There is an engineering discipline called materials science. Rubber can be mixed with an infinite amount of materials depending on need. Ignore the original comment about all rubber being the same.

Thanks OP, in for a set for the wife's car. These are the only blades I've used, for years now - in my experience I've found nothing better for durability and performance in our challenging northern climate.
A lot depends on if your car is garaged or if it sits outside long periods of time. I use Piaa wiper blades and I find them better than any other blades I have used in the past.

That's what I'm using, the Aerotwins. I've had them for 6 years and I live in the Midwest MN where the winters are brutal. Works flawlessly in the summer and they become a bit stiff in the winter when it's crazy cold. But we only get a handful of those temps. But.. I also park in the garage lol. It's not getting pounded by the sun constantly.

Lol I don't even need replacements but maybe I can be one of those cool people who change out their tires.. But instead their wipers lol

Same here. My originals from VW lasted 5 years before they began to chatter. In all fairness, the car only has 45k miles and garage-kept. I'm on year six and just found a combo here for $38. Many years ago I happily paid a lot for Bosch wipers. Hoping the new pair will last 3+ years.

Previously, I drove 40k miles a year and replaced wipers every winter.

Are these worth the premium over the Michelin beams at Costco? (Currently 7.99/each).

Never used either model...got 3 years out of my OEMs.
Read the comments about those wipers in the forum, my experience was they did not last at all

My cars are outdoor kept in the brutal southern California sun. Haven't found any premium blades that last more than 2 years before they get streaky or chattery. I did just try getting some silicone replacement inserts for a few bucks, though. Took 20 minutes to figure out how to do the first one, second took three minutes. So far so good with them. Time will tell if they're any better.

If the replacement inserts do work, though, beam wiper blades are way superior to traditional in terms of hugging your windshield.

I've tried those Costco Michelin wipers twice and find that they're quite poor. Decent enough out of the box, but only lasted around six months. I won't buy them again.

I'm going on 4 years on PIAA silicone wipers. Give them a shot at some point.

I purchased a set for my Lexus Ls430 and they didn't have the appropriate hook on them, but a different set was fine for my f150 - they lasted about a year but weren't very good, about on par with any other sub $10 wiper I've gotten from Wally World.
