Recommendations for multipurpose USB-C hub

85 38 October 8, 2023 at 09:36 AM
Greetings,

I see a large amount of deals on the generic amz multi-port USB-C hubs (5-1; 7-1.....) but i know there's a huge range of types and prices for these. Didn't realize some of these go upwards in the $3-400 range which was a huge surprise!!

Looking for recommendations for a reliable multiport - at a minimum having the capabilities of power, hdmi; usb-c displayport (nice to have) and with a good # of additional USB-C & A ports. Don't use much of any types of SD cards. I know this is pretty generic and pretty broad w/the requirements but if anyone has any recommendations for multiports they've used that are reliable and wont burn out in a month it would be most appreciated!!

Thanks in Advance SD Community!

For a cheaper thunderbolt dock, if you computer supports it, I've seen good prices on used\refurbished HP Thunderbolt Dock G2 and Dell TB16 (or slightly newer models of both). This is through Amazon or Ebay. Just make sure they include the power supply and that the warranty and\or return policy is good.

Non-thunderbolt docks get posted a lot on the forums, and I wouldn't hesitate to give any of those a chance unless you need a lot of bandwidth (for example, for multiple especially high refresh rate, high resolution displays).

The most featureful dock I've seen is the Sonnet Echo 20 for $299: https://www.sonnettech.com/produc...rview.html
