I'm looking at this for use for a homelab project running Docker containers.
I've got a Miniforums UM560XT [minisforum.com] for my docker host (homelab) that runs great, is power efficient and is an all-in-one. It's a bit cheaper than this setup as well.

You're not going to get that with the direction things are going. Thunderbolt 4 has 40GB/s bandwidth, and TB5 will have 80GB/s when available. PCIe Gen4 x16 is only 32GB/s and Gen5 64GB/s. No GPU handicapping there.
Wasnt aware next Gen was going to take such a leap. The day of the big desktop even for gaming is coming to a close. Maybe a radical shift where the motherboard is no longer the footprint, but the graphics card is.

Trying to understand the use case of this?
Has the potential to be a great MAME machine. I am thinking of throwing this into my AtGames Legends Ultimate arcade.

Dude, if you don't know, no need to act like you know. The reason I am saying this because Thunderbolt 3/4 has a bandwidth of 40 Gbps and you don't know the difference between "B" and "b" in binary. b stands for Bits whereas B stands for Bytes and 8 Bit makes up 1 Byte. This is like the 1st think you should know if you want to understand bandwidth or data storage. That 40 Gbps is equal to 40/8 = 5 GBps, and among it 1 GBps or 8 Gbps is reserved for Display Signal, meaning the actual data bandwidth is just 32 Gbps or 4 GBps. PCIe Gen 4 X16 is (32/4) = 8 times faster.

And you even failed to realize the very very basic facts that all the Thunderbolt bandwidth comes from the 4 PCIe Gen 3 lanes from the CPU. So, how the hel;l do you think that a Thunderbolt bandwidth can exceed PCIe Gen 4 X16 bandwidth?

He has no knwoledge about Thunderbolt or PCIe bandwidth and did not realize the diference between "B" and "b", standing for Bytes and Bits respectively. TB3/4 is 40 Gbps or 40 Gigabits per second, not Gigabytes per seond. Read my post above.

I'll sell the included CPU and replace with the most powerful chip on the market
AMD Ryzen 9 7950X, but how do I fit CPU cooler and power supply unit in what case? Any suggestions for a build with AMD Ryzen 9 7950X with this MiniPC?
The CPU is soldered. It's a mobile CPU, used in a mini ITX Board so that it can be used as a normal desktop platform. Read the Wiki section. This is a MoDT or Mobile on Desktop platform.

Sounds like you might want to keep your eyes open for the new Asrock Deskmini. I got the old one which was supposed to use a 3000 series Ryzen but was able to fit in a 5600g with its stock fan after I removed the fan shroud.

I don't think it's out yet, I remember reading an article about it at Toms Hardware a few months ago.

The use case is simple. MFers sell you this. You spend a small fortune getting it up and running. It starts to crap out. MFers ignore your pleas for support. You age 10 years in just 3 months.

7745HX is basically the same as 7700X. By limiting the CPU clock, you should get very similar power consumption on a 7700X as well. However, 7700X + a decent mobo will likely cost more than this (unless you have a Micro Center nearby).

So essentially you're getting a good mobile processor and a good motherboard to start a micro atx build with?

I think the main confusion here is that people are considering it as Mini PC. Just consider it as a Mini ITX Motherboard + Soldered CPU combination. You'll be needing everything you need to build a normal Desktop computer except the CPU and Motherboard.
