I have never heard a comment buying a cheap charger and house caught on fire. This is a good deal.

I was thinking the same. Mentioning about precautions is good but fear mongering is not. Unless your house is 100+ yrs old, it will worst case trip your circuit.
A fire captain came to our work talking about fire safety. He said one of the frequent fire cause are actually bath room fans and in the old days before air-fryers, frying oil fire in the kitchen.

The problem with charger like these are the fault current isn't really enough to trip the breaker but that's true with any small current devices. Report of fire from these charger are extremely rare. If there are fire, it's usually associated with a bad charging circuit on the device being charged.

The bigger concerns should be with faulty batteries. There are many reports of ebike battery caught on fire. Even small Li battery contain enough energy to be a small bomb.

Is this better than Case-Mate 30W USB-C PD3 GaN Wall Charger?
I bought that ( and this). Casemate is smaller, prettier and folds in, nicer for travel, this one is better if left plugged in

Buy ones with certificates. Don't save some dollars for safety.

Any good?
I've been using this for a few months with my pixel 7 OE cable and it works great. Fast charges as expected with the pixel 7 and doesn't get unusually warm.

I really don't see a big risk from a USB charger.

These complaints might be driven more by cables than the charger itself. I have various USB-C cables, and only the original Samsung ones I received that are about 5' long, and a couple aftermarket ones I have that are 3-5' long, actually get full power charging. The ones I have in the 8-15' range I only see about 1-1.5 amps (6-8 watts) from them on a 20w charger, and those are the same brand as the shorter aftermarket ones where I actually see the full 3-amp charge right.

what make this better than this one [amazon.com] which is 35W with a cable for same price.
Bought the OP deal and this one to try, for charging iPhone 15 and cheap Android phones. Will post an update if there are any noticeable differences.

Ok plugged this in yesterday and sparks and smoke came from the socket. It tripped the breaker. So no fire but a dangerous product.
