They have a significant defect, the video/clip doesn't show any timestamp.
If you google this issue, that is reported for at least 2 years since Google made the decision to switch google home from nest.
That move break all existing nest product.
Now, there are no any progress or fix is made for bringing timestamp back.
I personally think the timestamp of clip/video is must have.
If you have a feature you believe is a must-have, make sure the product does what you require of it BEFORE you purchase.
This is actually explained on Google's page when I searched as you mentioned:
Timestamps are only available for cameras set up with the Nest app, this feature isn't available in the Home app.
When you download a video clip from the Nest app, it comes with timestamps that are visible when you turn on English subtitles. This comes in handy when you want to know when your video clip was recorded.
For example, if your Google Nest camera records a burglar breaking into your home, you have a video clip with the date and time to give to the police. Or if your camera captures your child's first steps, the video clip can let you know exactly how and when it happened.
Nest camera timestamps aren't permanently recorded on top of your video clips like timestamps from traditional camcorders. Instead, you can show or hide them whenever you want.
