I'd love an easy solution to help with cleaning my bathroom, but the reviews for this product are not that super.

I bought this from HD a while back. It didn't do anything. I bought something from Amazon recently that was just bleach in a spray bottle. That does work but obviously you need to be careful where you're using it.

I get mold on the stucco on the north side of my house every year. A dilute solution of bleach with a few drops of dish detergent kills it in a day or two.

Some mold abatement professionals I had come in after a flood recommended this stuff, they said it's all they use and warned me not to use bleach. And they were right, it works. But it's also (usually) expensive. The gallon jug I bought a decade ago was like $35, now it's even more.

It turns out you can mimic the formula for pennies with the following formula: one quart hot water, one tablespoon baking soda (sodium bicarbonate), two tablespoons washing soda (sodium carbonate), and two tablespoons trisodium phosphate (TSP). I think I bought $15 worth of supplies and I can make a gallon each year for the next 50 years.

Practical Sailor did a bunch of tests with the leading products on the market to see what would work on common mold & mildew issues on boats. This DIY version pretty much came in at the top, only slightly bested by a 3M product.

Here's the article:

Wet-n-forget Indoor/Shower - this stuff rocks. Especially if you have hard water stains on glass. Just spray it when the last person showers for the day - rinse it off the next morning. I think it says do not leave more than 24 hours.

But if you already have mold/mildew, you might have to clean that off w. bleach or some sort of grout cleaner, and then start using W-n-F to maintain.

They have an outdoor product that's just as good! If you have algae and what not, it works wonders.

I barely use my pressure washer now... just get a good sprayer and go to town. Costco used to sell the concentrate for like $20 - but now they only sell the ready-to-use hose end sprayer.

Hope it helps you!

Oh - I forgot to add - if you do like it, keep the sprayer/bottle - they do sell a refill for slightly less.
