Good find! I was looking for low ones, so I scrolled right past those. I see now that there are a bunch of Salomon's deeply discounted, including Women's:
Any thoughts on Salomon vs Adidas vs Hoka for hiking shoes in terms of comfort for long mountain hikes?
Hoka and Adidas have developed good cushioning systems that marathon runners routinely use. Salomon and Merrell have long been preferred for their hiking shoes. But with running shoes companies coming into the mix I wonder if the shoes are as good as their running shoes.
Can anyone speak to how the sizing compares between Salomon and Adidas? I have a ton of Salomon's and was going to pick up a pair of Terrex for $35 from a recent Adidas post.

I used the XA Pro 3D for my PCT thru hike. They lasted about 500-600 miles per pair. They are more rugged and heavier than Addidas and Hoka in my opinion. They have a more protected toe with a structured rubber. Though, this newer model of XA Pro that I have yet to use, seem of lighter construction, so we'll see how that affects durability.
These, as with most Salomon to my knowledge are 12mm drop. Hoka is typically around 4mm and I'm not sure on Adidas.

Salomon runs small imo - I go a .5 higher from experience.
I wanted to like the ultra 4 and use them for hunting (completely off trail in various conditions), but they just didn't work with my feet (at the toe flex area). The xa are different here and very comfortable, but lugs are more shallow and sole is a bit harder and less grippy. For dry, hilly areas with lots of rock, lay down or roots, I use the xa. For everything else (90 percent of the time) I use the speedcross. I also have the quest 4d, but don't use those for anything anymore. I find them too heavy and stiff for anything but trail or easy hiking, and I'd much rather use the xa for that.
For actual hiking and training on trails, I wear merrell trail gloves. They are amazing as far as grip and comfort, and they train my feet and ankles to be bulletproof.

Looking for comfort and cushioning over durability

Thank you! I have seen a lot of Salomon reviews where people say they were too narrow and they needed to order them in Wide, but I hadn't seen anyone compare the sizes.
I am 11 in most Salomon's, so I'll get 11.5 when I order Terrex.

I'm a solid 11.5 in most shoes and I can barely get my toes in 11.5. I use 12 for Salomon and they are snug. I have very narrow feet which I love about Salomon - get fit for me all around lol
