Because the V8 is Battery hackable. I've been waiting for a v8 sale.

Of course if you have the money to replace batteries from Dyson, or repeat purchasing 3rd party (read: China) batteries, then by all means.

As an owner of 2 V8's - they are 1/3 the price. One of mine is on year 5 and going strong.

There are DIYs and adapters allowing you to use other rechargeable batteries in place of the Dyson OEM. Google "dyson v8 battery hack" and you'll find an endless supply of videos, discussions, and product options for whatever battery you want to use.

Why would anyone be interested in a V8 this late in its life cycle. Aren't we up to like v15 now...Just the v10 is a generational jump from the v8, and it has similarly priced in the past.

If you are asking about fur cleanup, yes it does great. You may consider the animal version for additional attachment tools, or a fluffy head if you have hardwood floors.
