That's the problem with these Dysons. They make dozens of different models and they don't make it easy to determine the differences.

This is the one. Cheaper than Amazon for the v8 animal. $25 gift card is provided AFTER you buy.

The Target version has one less attachment so it really should start at $200 or $225 with the $25 gift card. Walmart version is a better value.

The one on Amazon includes the hair screw tool which is $50 by itself. But for $299 the V8 on Dyson's website includes even more attachments, the hard floor fluffy cleaner head, and has an upgraded filter.

Is there a huge difference performance wise between v8 and v10? Was considering the v10 but see better deals on v8.

Personally I don't notice that big of a difference between the two when it comes to suction. The V8 is already a really nice vacuum. But if battery life is a big concern then you might want to just get the V10

The Target version identifies as having an extra attachment

The one from Target doesn't have the crevice tool. You can just scroll down and look at the questions and answers, plenty of people reporting and even a Dyson rep confirming that version not having the crevice tool.

I know you can hack these V8 models with an adapter to run on Makita batteries but Makita makes stick vacuums too. Their newest XLC11ZW model seems to be nice and is supposed to be much more powerful than their older models. And the good thing is they don't need an adapter. So this is a long shot, but I wonder if anyone has experience with both types of vacuums and could chime in which they prefer, pros & cons, etc. Thanks.
