Same price on the Kitchenaid site, I noticed a few forum posts from other sites saying don't buy through Amazon or Walmart because there's no guarantee you'll actually get a manufacturer refurbish vs 'we opened the box and plugged it in for 10 seconds'.

On the other hand for something this big at least with Walmart you can probably return direct to store while Amazon is charging for UPS store returns now (which is the only return option reasonably near my house) and I generally avoid buying from a company direct because returns with a company often become a ping pong match of 'email/call and complain, argue why you want to return it, eventually get an RMA, eventually get them to pay for the shipping, hope they actually accept the return when you send it without saying it's user error or charging you a restock fee...'

this does say "Sold and shipped by KITCHENAID" for me, but yeah you do get that additional layer of customer service/support and being able to return to any walmart store Smilie plus the current holiday return policy is in effect, so you have until january 31st. i didn't know that about ups returns though, that sucks..i'll have to keep an eye out for that because that's my usual return method for amz!

Silver on the KitchenAid website is $229. I have not been able to find a review or forum that says specifically what the difference is between regular Silver and Contour Silver. The website also has Aqua Sky and White.

I'm tempted to get the Aqua Sky but I think either silver option is probably better to blend in with any decor. But I don't have "matching appliances" going on.

Price dropped $10. Tried to cancel the order, but it quickly switched to Shipped after I did that. Very funny. Probably not worth returning and re-buying, but if it drops under $200 I'll probably do it. Not sure how that's worth it for Walmart to deny price adjustments vs people returning things.

Unfortunately, they're probably tracked by serial, so if I open it and use it I can't just return the second one unopened.

thanks for the note about the price drop! i have had some luck in the past with walmart when an order arrived later than the estimated ship date during checkout, and they asked me if manually giving me like 10% off (on a couch) would make up for, which i quickly agreed to. worth a shot via chat?
