While a lot of that is hearsay, there are enough reviews that give me pause.
oh and be sure to tell them what a hassle it is and that it costs them to process both the new purchase and return.

I'm not gonna return and rebuy and suffer Amazon's draconian bans over $10

Also important, yes you often times can keep the existing product and just send the new (cheaper one) back under the original order for a refund of the previous higher price you paid… but DO NOT DO THIS WITH APPLE PRODUCTS OR OTHER EXPENSIVE NAME BRAND ITEMS! I did this one time with an Apple Magic Keyboard that dropped $30 in price and ended up getting hate email from Amazon warning me about trying to scam them and informing me that I would not receive my refund, that they would dispose of the keyboard I sent back and that they may peruse legal action and potentially ban me fr9m using Amazon… I found out this was all due to the fact that Amazon records the serial numbers of some (most?) these types of products when they ship out and when (if?) they compare them in your return they will deny it if they don't match. This is presumably done to prevent customers from using the "Costco/Walmart" free extended warranty with them lol.
Fortunately, with a phone all to a supervisor, was able to explain the mixup on my part and as I did return a new condition item and both orders were within the 30 days, they did go ahead and fix it for me… even though they did supposedly through out the unopened keyboard I had sent them lol. Again, this crap could all be avoided on the customers' end if they had a price protection policy like most other major retailers do… but you can bet your biscuits they crunch those numbers and this makes better financial sense for them as a business I suppose. Anyhow, make sure you do it right lest you lose your merchandise, refund and/or hours of your life on the phone lol.
