Attractive price but I can't bring myself to buy AirPods from Amazon. Too many horror stories in the reviews about receiving fakes and Reddit posts about people wanting to or suggesting buying real ones and returning fakes. Some have mentioned Amazon co-mangles the inventory so there is a chance a pair listed as Sold and Shipped by Amazon is actually a unit from a 3rd party seller.
While a lot of that is hearsay, there are enough reviews that give me pause.
Anyone know how long this price drop will last? Having trouble getting best buy to price match online, just want to go into the store to do it after work, but would suck if the deal ended by then.
I got one with Apple Care+ from Amazon using the Discover Card. Amazon sent me an email with order number, serial number of the Airpod and Apple Care info.
I checked the serial number at Apple website and it shows the purchase month/year and Apple Care coverage.
I suspect Amazon tracks the s/n just in case if someone decides to return with a different and/or fake Airpod.
To check if you have fake AirPods, check your Find My app to see if they show up. Fake ones won't show up on there. Or like others said, take it to an Apple Store to verify.

Where are you seeing the serial number? I cannot find one on any of the receipts I got.

I was seriously considering the Sony WF-1000XM5 over the AirPod pro 2s due to the enhanced NC feature and possibly the sound quality; however, for this price I would consider buying them. Does anyone have any personal experience with both? I'm still on the fence.
I had the XM4s and they fell out of my ears constantly - they were unusable at the gym as they'd just fall out as soon as I lay down. Airpod Pros hug the head more and mostly stay put unless I get super sweaty.
still sitting sour that my Gen 1s had the known crackle issue and Apple wouldn't replace them.
Same here! Apparently it was for a "select" set
of devices and mine wasn't part of the devices with the problem. When I pried for more info, one of them let slip that Apple decided not to replace the ones that were purchased over 3 years ago even if they had the issue. Having spent 250 plus the 30 for apple care, one would expect better from Apple.

I got mine replaced *twice*, it happened twice for me lol, so I was lucky.
On topic -- I got priced matched at target today bay area -- 189$ with tax 206$ ty slickdealers
Got mine and they appear real, I did get Apple care with them and they are a gift abd they registered the Apple care upfront so seems even more legit with that.

oh and be sure to tell them what a hassle it is and that it costs them to process both the new purchase and return.

Personally, I wouldn't bother doing a return/reorder on Amazon over $10

Using an iPhone but the ecosystem isn't as important to me. Prefer the one with better sound, performance, ANC, and fit
