It also doesn't have a glossy panel which makes it better when using it as a PC monitor, especially when you watching it up close.

It performs identically to a c1. It just has DisplayPort and usb hub. It doesn't include the tv features such as the LG smart interface, tv image & motion processing, and tuner.

I think I understand your desire to encourage others to put in the legwork on finding things, but your vague comment about "$8 Amazon remote" really doesn't move the conversation forward.

Perhaps I have misunderstood, but which one are you referring to? Does it have some type of "keep awake" feature?

is there not a firmware update out that fixes this issue.
There have been quite a few firmware updates and they luckily happen via the USB connection to your motherboard so no fumbling with making/plugging in/booting to a USB stick. I haven't really had an issue with autodimming and I've had the monitor since it came out about a year ago. But maybe there is some use case that makes it annoying. I game, work and browse/render on mine everyday.

I picked one up this morning from Best Buy and had them PM Amazon at it still showing $799. I was able to get the 4 year service plan that covers burn in for $119. I will be using it for gaming and work. I spend about 12 hours per day, 3 days a week, working on spreadsheet and know there will be burn in.
