Wow could be good… how does this compare with lg c3? Lack of Dolby Vision a huge issue for movies?

Bought this last night with this discount! Amazing price for a 77" QD-OLED

Crazy to think that a 77" OLED would cost five figures just a handful of years ago

Yes this is my price point as well for 77" oled…. I'm just worried about the lack of Dolby vision. Seems like Samsung is new to the oled game whereas lg is well established, so wondering if I should hold for a c3 deal

If they give you 10% that means the 55" is around 1k?

I'm still in the return window for my costco 55" s90c that I got for 1499, but that does have the 5 year warranty and it's a gen 2 panel, plus the costo version has 60 instead of 40 watt speakers.

The LG C3 OLED and Samsung S90C OLED are similar TVs occupying the same market position. Of the two, the Samsung is the better gaming TV and slightly better overall TV, while the LG is the better TV for movie fans. The Samsung gets brighter than the LG, especially in HDR; not only that, but it also maintains its HDR brightness better in Game Mode. It also supports 4k @ 144Hz, while the LG is limited to 4k @ 120Hz. It has a much wider color gamut and more accurate colors. However, the LG supports DTS audio formats and Dolby Vision, making it great for Blu-ray fans. It also has better low-quality content smoothing than the Samsung TV, making it better for watching streaming content, especially in low-bitrate situations.

Thanks. How bad is the lack of Dolby vision? I am coming from a 2016 Vizio so I'm sure this tv will be a huge leap regardless, but wondering if the lack of DV will be a pain. I watch mostly Netflix , Vudu, and downloaded movies, and it seems like everything is DV.

Nearly every videophile post I've read says displaying in HDR10 instead is no big deal. Really up to you, but most won't likely notice/care.

I heard Samsung OLEDs still struggle with burn in, is this true? I think LG has it pretty much worked out so I might wait for a deal on the C3.

Geez man. 77" is the best size OLED. Who cares about the Tv speakers. Get a Soundbar it's prime day! No offense but 55 inches sucks. I just went from a 65 to a 77 and that's a 12 inch difference and it's huge you're talking a 22 inch difference. I would be scrambling up $500 so fast, it would make your head spin and figure out someway to order this And return that 55 inch toy to Costco. You can get a whole home warranty from asurion home+ covers your cell phones and everything for like $29 a month. I spilled all over my Apple laptop and I brought it in to one of their approved repair places and all I had to do was pay $100 deductible, and they sent me a brand new sealed Apple laptop.

I know there were some issues with the panel bending on the S95B at the corners and I think this has the same design. Any worries especially for the larger size?

How are returns handled for Samsung direct? If you want to return something like a tv will they send someone to pick it up.

Panel lottery still seems rampant with these things in 2023.

If you choose to pick up at Best Buy instead of having it delivered, I believe you can return it to any Best Buy if needed.
