This is cheapest it's been. Previous low was just over $155 per camera. I went ahead and purchased.

Is the one directly from eufy a better deal being that it comes with 1tb drive in the homebase for $619? Honest question. https://us.eufy.com/products/bund...5331367098

I am trying to decide between this and S220. Reviews show there is not much difference between this 4k and S220 2k.
Aside from this including the HomeBase, I am not sure if I want to pay the extra price for 4k.
Anyone with both that can share some insight?

do these new cams still send notification alerts for moving tree shadow during the day and reflected light at night with AI-human detection settings?

I have the Eufy Security Outdoor SoloCam S230(S40) for about three months now, and have not had either of those events trigger a notification. I even have the street in view and the passing cars don't trigger an alert. I would imagine this camera is newer technology and should be at least as "smart" for detections.

I have had a number of Eufy cameras. There are no battery Wi-Fi cameras that are perfect but I would avoid Eufy cameras unless you really need the solar panel built into the camera.

The 2K S40 camera's motion detection is far more reliable than this. I had both side by side and I had to send this back because it missed so much that the S40 recorded. The resolution is slightly better for stationary objects but as soon as something is moving you really don't see much difference between this 4k camera and the s40.

The light on this is also not very bright compared to the S40 which is MUCH brighter and could actually act as a deterrent at night.

I'm super annoyed that Eufy just released a bunch of new cameras when their existing cameras don't work very reliably and they're years behind on their promises of home base 3 compatibility.

Bottom line for me is that I would avoid all Eufy cameras unless you want a solar powered battery camera without a detached solar panel, I think the form factor here is the best for that but I'd go with the s40.

I should add that there are two versions of the S40 and if you get the original one there's a good chance the solar panel will start to flake and water will get inside. But if that happens Eufy will replace it as long as you have the photos to prove it. There is no way to guarantee you'll get a newer version, it's luck of the draw.

EDIT: I'll add what another poster mentioned which I forgot to mention. This does not connect to wifi, it only connects directly to a Homebase. So if one camera is out of range of the Homebase then you need additional Homebases. This. Is. Ridiculous.

Don't have first hand experience with these but have read that this model with built in solar panel isn't reliable.
Also these don't work with the home base 2 so this is a hard pass for me.

4k vs 2k may be important if you need it for real security and identification of a perpetrator for use with law enforcement or the judicial system.
4k may also hog more bandwidth and storage space vs 2k.

Yes, I get a bunch of notifications from car reflections lights at night and tree branches moving. Even when I turn down sensitivity I still get notified that my trash can is a person.

I bought these on the last prime day. So far the solar charging battery is still at 100% but I haven't entered the fall/winter season yet.

I like the features and pictures, but my biggest complaint is that the motion detection/zone is only about 8ft away from the camera. I have the top section of the camera pointed on the road where the remaining 3/4 of view is my sidewalk/driveway/patio steps. It only picks up motion when they're already on my patio, and only <30 seconds of footage because by the time it's recording, they're past the fov.

I need to reposition the camera lower, but at that point, anyone can jump and smack it down. A bit underwhelming in terms of fov/recorded area but battery, picture, and AI detection is good.

I'm upgrading from Arlo Pro 2 from Costco and while the recorded fov isn't good, everything else is better. Gotta fidget with it more but I'm satisfied enough but very underwhelming. Feels like it's a better indoor camera, but time will tell with some experiment

Deal breaker: S330 needs to connect directly to Homebase, not via WIFI. Camera needs to be placed within a short range from the Homebase.

Get an NVR with POE cameras if possible, you have pre- and post event recording.

This cámaras are "ok" not the best I have them they dont seem to catch far away people only with in close range, they have a wide view but wont watch anyone walking only 15 feet away. Also the solar is not that good. One of mine gets direct sunlight but died in with in 15 days of charge. I contacted EUFY costumer service but they said I need to use them less. That i use them to much and were no help so the costumer service sucks. I try to return them but they said after 30 days I'm out of luck ive had them for 45 days smh. Also the home base does not connected to Homekit"apple phones" which sucks to be honest. My suggestion is buying hardwire 24/7 recording camaras dont buy this stuff you will be dissapointed
