Display: 14" FHD (1920x1080) IPS 300nits Anti-glare, 100% sRGB, Touch
Processor: MediaTek Kompanio 520 (8C, 2x A76 @2.05GHz + 6x A55 @2.0GHz) (MT8186)
Memory: 4GB Soldered LPDDR4x-3733, no slots, dual-channel
Storage: 64GB eMMC 5.1 on systemboard, no slots
Card Reader: microSD Card Reader
Keyboard: Non-backlit, English
1x Headphone / microphone combo jack (3.5mm)
1x USB 3.2 Gen 1
1x USB-C® 3.2 Gen 1 (support data transfer, Power Delivery 3.0 and DisplayPort™ 1.1a)
Weight: 2.87 lbs
AUE until June 2032

This has a very similar processor of Amazon Fire HD 10 2023 (MT8186A, 8C, 2x A76 @2.05GHz + 6x A55 2.0GHz) and Amazon Fire Max 11 (MT8188J, 8C, 2x A78 @2.2GHz + 6x A55 2.0GHz). Coupled with the slow eMMC and 4GB soldered RAM, obviously not fast enough for heavy tasks, but should be more than capable for web-browsing, light office tasks and media consumption.

It's good to have the little display upgrade from the previous gen with 100% sRGB, which is rare for a Chromebook at this price range.

At $149, I believe this is the lowest possible price. Maybe, sometime later, it might hit $139 when they have clearance.

I actually own that previous gen with MT8183 processor [lenovo.com] (same CPU of Amazon Fire HD 10 2019), mainly for streaming and very very light cloud-based document works (not for a larger spreadsheet). Checking email and web-browsing with few tabs are just fine. The battery life is great with the ARM architecture.

agreed, $149 is a pretty good deal if you only need this for basic tasks or if a child needs to learn how to use a chromebook/google apps properly before their school/classes require one.

I picked one up at $149 after trying a Lenovo Chromebook Plus for 2 days. Amazing battery life vs the Plus. Beautiful screen. Perfect for web browsing which is what I bought it for.

passmark over 3000, very strong for a chomebook. I got several mt8183 chromebooks, passmark 1900 and they are adequate. This should be a breeze.

4GB can be very limiting. Have issues doing a lot of teleconferencing while having a remote desktop open and trying to do something else in browser. Add Google Play store and a linux container and it's basically unusable.

For just browsing the web and streaming it's fine. light multitasking

Same, I use 4 GB daily (the ol' MT8173C), do use the Linux container sometimes, and will be moving to 8 GB minimum on the next cheap Chromebook.

The intel core m3 will do better when connected to an external monitor above 1080p resolution. But beyond that? The Kompaio 520 is likely a little bit better experience since it is running on Chrome OS and the battery life will be amazing. Realistically it is a fairly even trade from a performance perspective, but if I was to choose one to use I would likely go with the chromebook.

How heavy is it?

My 11 year old son has to carry a 2.6 lb chromebook and a bunch of books to school every day.

The school device screen is only 11 inches and not touch screen... if this is an upgrade and not heavier I'll bite.

Mediatek chips are on the slow side, they don't age well unless its youtube only.

Snapdragon, Intel Atom/N, Intel 6xxxx or better is going have snappy performance for longer and under $100-200

Should work, but may not be ideal. This article touches on some expectations.

With this device, I'd assume you'd need to change some graphic settings in the game to ensure smoother gameplay. Your 11 year old may or may not care about needing that.

This is too long for a Lenovo deal without someone commenting on hinges.
