For the Gateway laptop, guess Microcenter was practicing advertising for the $300 price point a while back for the Indianapolis store opening:

Is there any reasoning behind doing Indianapolis only?

Dang missed it from previous when it was more stores. Hopefully they do again soon, maybe to compete with Amazon days? Lol

Any thoughts on this Dell brand new vs. an open box - satisfactory on this one for $70 more?

Very tempting, but might not end up getting it. I am more of a desktop person and not sure how to use this laptop

I would go with the legion with the 4060. Much better gpu. Also ryzen cpun is more efficient even though the ryzen 5 cpu would be a little slower than i7-12 cpu

I am still a desktop person. I got a collection of 2011 cpus. But theses laptops nowadays are so powerful that unless you really doing some particular task, the laptop is perfectly fine. And as a bonus you can take it with you when you travel

There is small shop in Alaska that is giving away a laptop for free. Can I make the front page?

I just picked the $299 Gateway in the Indy Microcenter. Deal is in-store only. Definitely legit deal.

Edit: The $299 laptop is 8GB RAM vs the 16 GB in the OP.
