Does it require a 240 outlet ?
No just a normal 120. It sure does pull some power though.
Otherwise when you use the heat function it will trip the breaker

No cover, hence very energy inefficient
Edit: To add to this, I was going to share my solution. I have a HomeBridge setup running with the BestWay add-on. This allows me to bring the spa into HomeKit where I can schedule the filter on and off at various times. The add-on does not report the proper temperature is my complaint about that add-on.
